What is your opinion on Secession?

This is a serious question directed at the sane members on this website, I want to know what are your opinions on secession in particular somaliland? I know that the vast majority are against it but I would like to know the reasons. Look at Somalia we have been in war for two decades now and the main reason is that we don't know how share a country and more importantly is that we have no respect for each other. Me personally it would of been great to have a united country of all our lands, but our problem is that we can't stand each other. I believe that there was a time when we could of all been united under the somali flag, but that time has now passed.
Allah says love for your brother, what you love for yourself, so the best I can do is make du'ah that somalia becomes free from chaos. But as for being one country well I believe that we cannot share a country so why should you force your brother something he doesn't want.

Of COURSE secession is necessary AND inevitable. After all, can you blame Isaaq for wanting to distance themselves from the dysfunction of xamaar?

I believe it is an empty pipe dream, but it is irrational to expect those who have instituted a functioning government and have a semblance of peace to put their own needs behind those of people who will never see calm unless it is instituted forcefully (ICU, Shabab).

As for the foreigner above who believes it is 'inevitable' I'd advise him to pick up a law book and study cases similar to S/Land. It will never happen. They will remain unrecognized.

and not of my business to have a say about it.
wont chnage any thing in my daily life. so why care?

only i feel sorry for the poor women , kids and old people who suffering in civil war. that's all.

I think it’s the best thing we ever did took back our independence
1960 was wrong
Trying to create a Somali empire beyond colonial borders , we wasted our energy
So this is the best thing and Somaliland’s independence is sacred

Gimme a fuckin' break here pal. We're talking world politics, not Federal case law or criminal codes. But perhaps you can enlighten with some of this case law to which you refer.
