To pragmatical: I agree. We've moved to and live in a predominantly Christian, nonMuslim world-we are a minority. I was watching a news show the other day and a guess said something to the effect of "if you have a bunch of mexicans crossing the borders and some of them blow themselves up you have to look at the mexican community, stop all mexicans and check their ID's etc." He put it rather crudely but he is right. OKay, lets just overcome the hypocracy here and admit it: if we were in the same situation, and it was christians in a predominantly Muslim nation that were committing these acts, then we would react in the same manner. period.
to quruxley, mocha: for us, as muslims at this stage of our history, and here I talk not of individuals but a religion, there are greater things at stake than muslims in western countries being told to "go back where you came from" The question that should be asked, and wiseman has put it rather aptly, what have we Muslims done to ourselves ? Why is it that muslim nations are backward in every conceivable manner when it comes to the west? what has happened to Islam as a civilization ? ANd please, do not point a finger at the US or Europe for it is in ourselves we must look. This may seem rather philosophical to some but honestly, I really believe that this is a problem that cannot be ignored.
