For a long time I considered myself as a foreigner here, but then I remembered the only people who are genuinely from this country are a handful of native Americans. Everyone else is an immigrant here. No way will I accept someone from Sicily or Poland to have more claim to this land than me. If they say "Go back to Somalia!", my response is simply "Go back to Ireland!" That's the wonderful thing about the U.S. You're only as good as you're worth. Start acting like an ignorant refugee and you will be side-lined and be made to feel like an outsider. Educate yourself about your rights, understand the constitution, vote in your local elections, pay taxes, do volunteering, mow your lawn, etc and you are no different than the Smith family next door.
