The Mennonites are Amish, Anabaptist and pacifist. Other groups include "Dunkards" and "Black Bumper" Amish. They tend to be agriculturalists and avoid modern convieniences such as telephones and cars. They get special dispensation to send their children to public schools only through the eighth grade.
http://www.thirdway.com/menno/Contrary to Hyper in another thread, Abraham, Isaac and Ismael all worshipped the same God and are all part of the Abrahamic tradition. "The Book" is the Bible, and clearly the Prophet considered it an important document, whatever he thought of it's people. Upon payment of the Jizya tax, Christians, Jews and I believe Zoroastrians all enjoyed Dimmi status and the protection of the Caliph under all of the various empires. Even Saudi Arabia today is not pure Muslim and has significant minority Muslim populations, not all of whom fit into everyones's notion of what a Muslim is.
Especially given the state of religious education in Somalia, it is absurd to claim that everyone born there is Muslim. It's like Takfiiris claiming all the Muslims in the world are Takfiris, or a Qutbist claiming only he has the true religion of the Prophet. It just doesn't stack.
The other issue is that Shabaab's intention appears to be pure intimidation. There has certainly been little attempt to prove any facts in a legitimate court, and at least one of the cases that have been brought to light turned out to be cover for a Shabaaab gang rape of a 13 year old girl. The closest Biblical analogy I can think of to the Shabaab would be the mob in Sodom and Gomorrah.....
