Twelve dead as US soldiers go on shooting rampage at Fort Hood military base in Texas
The Army says one of the gunmen has been killed and two others apprehended and all of the gunmen are US soldiers.
The massacre happened at a training centre on the sprawling grounds of the largest US military base in the world.
One gunman was caught quickly but the others went on the run.
Four police officers were shot and wounded before they were arrested.
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen were dressed in military uniforms.
According to one report the shootings happened shortly before a graduation ceremony involving universities located on the base.
President Barack Obama has been briefed on the situation, the White House said.
Fort Hood is one of the US’s premier installations for training heavy forces and tens of thousands of soldiers go through every year, many heading to Afghanistan and Iraq.
It covers an area of 15 square miles some 50 miles from Waco, Texas and there are up to 50,000 people, including families, on the site at any one time. The base has been locked down.

I just hope to God none of those crazies attack mosques like they did after 9/11.
