A theory as to why Somalia is so backwards

Baasto and Bariis you seem to be really confused and have an agenda not supported by science. I.Q tests are culturally biased and are infamous for that reason. For example, I am very informed of general white, mainstream American culture more so than the average Somali. You take a Somali or an African-American classmate with experience in predominantly African American circles and make us take the test....even though those two individuals are as smart as I am when it comes to our studies (maybe even smarter and achieve higher scores) chances I would have an I.Q higher than them because of the cultural bias.

If you want to see the proof of my post up there that says it is all about the environment that nourishes, look at the inventions of Blacks in America and compared them to the lack of inventions by Blacks in Africa. These are some including the elevator, stove, peanut butter, first open heart surgery, traffic light, typewriter, cell phone, helicopter, motor, etc. (<----Bet you not a lot of people know Black Americans invented this stuff)

Why? It is a great discussion and has the potential to make us see the Somali peoples' weak spots. Ignore the shameless ignorance of Bariis and Baasto. He is just a means to and end (helping us see the problem with our people).

I agree with the general observation with regards to where African stands and where some parts of the World stand but your theory for why has no basis, and even seems crazy.

I have used this analogy before. If you take a German kid and a Conglese and swap their place of upbringing, the Congolese kid will become advanced while the German will stay stagnant having been raised in the environment provided to him which is in the Congo.

There is no "intelligence" differences between humans along race. All humans are equally capable of the others' intelligence but it is a matter of who rears and gives an opportunity for that intelligence.

The most acceptable theory for why Africans lag behind other population is that Africans, continuing to live in the land humans first walk, have grown complacent in their situation. Before colonialism, they lived as they did before. Very satisfied in their daily labor, good weather, abundance of food source, and a carefree lifestyle they had formed since the beginning.

The other races particularly the Europeans were not so lucky having to learn to adapt and survive in such cold, foreign, and harsh climates. Even their physical look changed. The eyes became lighter to take in light better during the long cold months of the winter, the skin changed to get increased vitamin D from small sunlight, etc and they had to form an assertive culture to survive.

This is what led to some humans becoming more assertive and willing to gain an advantage over others in a competition that existed to them. Such competition and desire to increase development or competitive advantage would not have become a part of African culture because Africans were satisfied and complacent.

How did Europe go about capturing the world? How did the Arabs rise to from corner to corner?

The Europeans were looking for more resources, they were looking for potatoes, spices, silk, all of which was not known to them or their land. Their first reason for going into the oceans was not because they were superior to people and wanted to capture others, but it was because they were hungry and unhappy with what little they had. The skills that led to colonialism were developed as a result of these hungry and desire to obtain the resources they did not have.

Before Islam, the Arabs were complacent and satisfied in their situation. After Islam, they had a cause and a reason to go out. This drive made them want to gain competitive advantage and this is how a lot of Islamic inventions happened (which led to the European renaissance).

It is not because of natural caqli or natural intelligence that is then the bane or the curse of the African people but rather because of complacency and feeling satisfied when the rest of the world is not as satisfied and is developing the skills to have a competitive advantage of the other. This is why I am highly critical of the Somali nomadic lifestyle and any development that occurs and seems to weaken it I will support. The less Somali and African people feel complacent and satisfied, the more assertive they will become and the more they will see the need and actually develop skills that give them a competitive advantage.

So simple yet so true.

Still, I shall bite and ask why you chose to suggest that Africa may be colonised again? Why not Bolivia for instance or Singapore? Or South Korea (oops, the Americans have bases there, don’t they? I am getting confused here. Would you agree that the case of colonisation is not intellect based but rather has something to do with power?

But Israel is so advanced and clever and most its people have sexy IQs!

You see, you have an idea there and I am guessing (just guessing, mind) it has something to do with why Africans (and Somalis) are so backward but I would not call it a theory yet. Intelligence is more strongly related to nutrition, poverty, early education and similar factors than it is to race. And saying that IQ is tied to genes to a certain point doesn't mean that it is tied to a race. It is well known that lower income/oppressed minorities score lower on IQ tests, examples are everywhere. It just happens that blacks have always been the most oppressed of the minorities, hence them scoring particularly low on standardized testing in the US.

I wouldn't call it self-hatred, that implies this thing is Somali. You can discuss a topic like this when you're able to differentiate between social classifications and actual genetic groupings. Until then you can revel in your idiocy.
