Being a Abdi in the UK socks

Postby Dicemoney » Fri Jan 08, 2010 6:17 pm

My name ain't abdi hebel thank god such a commen Somali name anyway the point is

Ok so let's face it, we don't really fit in with other people. The chinesse fit in, the ethiopians fit in, the indians fit in or try at least, but us somalis stand out like a third tit. The reason why we stand out in different socieities is because we try to fit in so hard. Case in point, back to school last week I find myself stuck in another cultural studies class. So I'm sitting in the back because I came late to class ofcourse. The most dreaded part of class is the introductions. The professor is another one of those hippie middle aged librals who seem too enthusiastic about cultures and different people and secertly hates his own people. Works for me cus I hate his people too. Laughing

Teacher: "Mark smith, todd hamilton, angela brown, Chano???)

Changwang Ho: "Just call me kevin"

Teacher: "Actually I prefer to call you Chang?? waan? ho?"

The class bursts into laughter.... HAHAHAHAHA

Changwang Ho: "Ok just call me Chang then"

Teacher: "Ok, David Thomas, Brenda Lee, Farhia Ali??"

Farhia: "yes you have it right"

Teacher: "So Farhia were you from tell us more about you"

Now Farhia is sitting in the front seat and didn't see me coming in the class yet, because I was late and passed out in the back. But now I am all up and looking at farhia trying to figure out if she is bangable. Meanwhile Farhia starts speaking with Shakazulu accent. Laughing

Farhia: "I am from Somalia. I've lived in england for 5 years. I love this country and the people. I am the first Somali to attend this University'

The class looks very impressed or annoyed or just bored.

Teacher: "Wow that's interesting, first Somali in our school. Let's all give a round of applause to Farhia, first always gets special treatment"

The class claps for her and some D!ckheead in the corner yells "Go Farhia"

Teacher: "Ok, Tracy smith, Jim Robberts, ******?? "

My brain: "Oh sh!t"

Me: "Call me Kevin too"

The class laughs...

Teacher: " Can I call you mike?"

Me: " No call ********..it's an easy common name"

More laughs...

Teacher: "So **********ii? tell us more about yoruself"

My brain: "Sh!t that Farhia chick took my "I'm the only somali in the school" line?"

Me: "Well I'm the 2nd Somali in the school, and back home we used to walk barefeet 5 miles to school, so I'm happy I drove here today"

More hestarical laughter in the class....including some desk banging by the guy who yelled "Go Farhia". The teacher was now annoyed at my hijacking of the class. He seemed like he just wanted to go on with a quite morning of foregn student name misspronounciation. But no, now one of these foregn A$$holes is makign jokes.

Teacher: "Well, we're glad to have you here"

--You see now, Ms.Farhia was giving me an evil (I want to shagg you) look. Like why the heck you in my class and why did you ruin my chances of lying about how nice the briths's are. I gave her a look back pretty much saying, "screw you, but if you want to screw me, i'm down for that too" Needless to say when I saw this farhia walking out of the class she was a major hottie. She had one of those tight long skirts and long sleave shirts and a hijab. Like I'm covered up but nobody said anythinga bout showing my body figure. I am going to persue this chick even if I have to pretend like I need her help in the assignements.

m sitting in the back because I came late to class ofcourse.
Are you insinuating all Somalis are challenged with punctuality such as yourself?

And its only freshies that "try too hard" whether they be fresh international students, fresh from Mogdhishu or Dafur.

You need help

By the way - how did Farhiya go? :D
