Only Puntland deserves the capital.

Not animals like the south and not bitches like the north. The only Somalis staying true to Somalinimo, whilst making sure the Somalis live in peace and prosperity no matter what their tribal or ethnic background is.

Unfortunately some people bleed in their underwear when they hear the name Puntland.

Cinque,

The capitol cannot be in any tribal area as shock therapy until Somalis are mature enough to respect Government institutions. If Sub-Sub-Sub clans of Majerteen can have gun skirmishes amongst themselves, what do You think about a whole nation flocking to that new city?

Also a food for thought is are You willing to have the entire demographics of what was once a MJ city change and lose that influence over it?

One thing everyone is unaminous on is that Xamar is friggin cursed, and that shidhole can no longer serve as any Capitol.

1 of 2 things must be done for the capital to remain in place:

1-Empty the city of anyone who wasn't owned a home there in the last 200 years. Then open an immigration system, allowing only the most skilled people to move in to the city, do this for about 5 years, then lax policies on immigration in to the city. Built massive walls around the city, create a special police force to track down any illegal aliens and immediately deport them to the hell-holes they crawled out from.

2-Document every resident of the city, then create districts & zones around the city. Assign each family to a specific zone based on what region of the country they had migrated from, then build massive walls around these zones. Assign about 5 zones to a district and create a local adminstration for it. Funds given to each district will depend on their productivity and how much taxes they pay.

If this isn't done, then I say nuke the city & re-start elsewhere.

The City will be influenced along Clan Lines because am Certain that two or three sub sub clan's of a Clan will still be the majority. I have the perfect spot for the Capital in Somalia but ill keep it to myself.

Bosaso has a minority Majerteen population....40-45%

Eyl needs at least a 100 million dollar motorway and a 250+ million dollar port to become an economically viable city. Bosaso already got this (sunk costs)

Serious question: People who have money in Bossaso do not live there for months at a time I hear due to the heat. How can that be a capitol? Why not a place like Galkacyo if You're looking for a place in Puntland or Garowe?

What Koronto suggested is impossible. Just move the capital to a planned city and what a better city than Hobyo for that. I mean let us think about it. Hobyo district has an estimated population of only 67,000 people while the town of Hobyo itself has less 5000 residents.
Removing those 5 thousand residents to other settlements outside the town and just building everything from scratch there would be perfect. For a place like Somalia, a planned capital is the best option. Hobyo has the location thing going for itself too. It is very central and pretty far from Ethiopia and more importantly it is right on the ocean. Controlling it would be easy as cake.

It has the same weather as Dubai, I don’t leave Dubai often August, it's doable the weather is not that bad..

The 5 month long winter in the Northern US / Canada and Europe is much worse than the 2,5 month heat wave in the summer of Bosaso.

Bosaso has fantastic weather 9,5 months a year

According to the Weather Dubai today was Hovering around 95F and its March so technically if Bossasso and Dubai have the same Weather as Djibouti, than by no mean's is it only hot 2 months of the year. It should feel like hell begining May till Nov. Imagine someone from the Mountain's in Borame and how they would feel in Bossasso.
