Marexan its easy, just say few nice things about Siyaad Barre(aun) and talk about the Kacaan for just 5 minutes

Dhulbahante not too hard, talk about Darwiish and the Britishers who got their ass kicked, mention that they were the first African movement to be confronted with air backup

Habar Gidir ?

Abgaal ?

Isaq ?

Ogaden ?

Mention locations, it can't get easier than that. Recently I realized about 90% of the Somalis I'd ever come across were MJs because they never stopped talking about Bosaso. Most Warsangeli and Dulbahante you come across have traveled in Hargeisa and they'll mention that a lot too, so watch out for that curve ball, the rest of the clans should be easy to spot. Study a clan map and you're good to go.

paidmonk true, sometimes you have to becareful though, i remember having a convo about Kismaayo with a guy i thought was Marexan but turned out to be Ogaden i was like WTF lol

i learned to wait and notice the hints e.g.

a MArexan will go something like " xamar wee udhamaatey" a Hawiyo " xamar wee dhuushey" and so on.
