What development occur in Puntland? Few boundaries of plaster and only plaster? Might I remind you these apartments actually have sewage, electricity, etc and other modern amenities. Besides if I wanted to big anything up I would have went to Generals and not post in Gedo section where I ask fellow Marehans why we usually only invest in Nairobi? When I was in Nairobi last time, I saw the late Da'ud Dirir's real estate enterprise and these guys were developing literally two miles of prime estate in Nairobi. When my dad gave the green light for me to ask why spend your money here he said "Mareexaans have seen real governance and will only invest in places where real governance exists". I am critical of that in the sense I believe we need to invest in the motherland irrespective of some worries about security. Also if you think Caabudwaaq and Garbaharey's temporary security status is conducive for foreign investment, you must have failed more than one business class. Even if Garbaharey was the most peaceful city on earth, foreign investors (Which includes Somalis living abroad) would not invest because it is not a guaranteed security and even rather an investment-denying situation due to the geo-political situation surrounding the leadership which is as legitimiately hated as the taliban. They started the Garbaharey airport project but then but it on hold as well as the Gedo University all because of the socio-political situation surrounding the current control of Shabaab. How do you compare that to local legitimized leadership as has existed in Puntland for 10 years time? What's this shit?
I thought you were raging against s-netters who big up development in our FAMILY villages, and now you are bigging up developments in another country because a member of your clan did so. What a shame.
And don't blame peace, there is more peace in Cabudwaaq and Garbahareey than Gaalkacyo.

If If IF, It doesn't work like thatIf Marehan had that same time

Once Gedo and all of Jubbaland get a stable administration, investments will start to flow. In the meantime, Mareexaan businessmen are businessmen first.continue to invest in kenya while gedo looks the way it does. Doesnt make anysense.
Very well said. It is not only Mareexaans who have this problem. Many other Somalis including mine do have the same problem. All we do is build buildings back home or invest our hard earned money in Kenya and Shariqa while we neglected our home towns and cities from building and creating basic infrastructure such as hospitals, better schools, factors, and so forth.there is nothing Sade about this business !
1) its not in Gedo, middle/lower juba, Galgaduud, Mudug or even the regions such as Hawd and NFD.
2) its a property business in a foriegn land, not an import/export, transport, service business(Xawalad, Tel etc) and the likes that can contribute to Somalia whiles making money abroad.
3) there is not much liquidity in these buildings meaning this business is in for the very long run.
yeah the guys who run this business may be Marexan but this business is not an asset to Sade, its an asset to Kenya both on the macro and the local level.
the Suju Majerteen who have been in Nairobi as a significant population have invested less in the city than Marexan, simply because they are more interested in their villages and actually invest their money in desert dusty places and make them decent towns.
there is no excuse for Marexans not being willing to invest sums of their hard earned money into the lands of origin, what faces Marexan today has or is facing everyone in Somalia. remittance comes in millions to Caabudwaaq yet there is no real change except for houndreds of new empty colourful buildings, no credible private hospitals, schools, airport, roads etc its all left for public funding coming from a non existing government and dont even get me started on Gedo.
i acknowledge P/L and S/L pretty much had everything from roads to seaports prepared for them by the last government, but its not like they looked at those who were less fortunate and became complacent, NO! so why is it a good number of Marexans are so sedative when it comes to development and economics in their home regions and use small hurdles as excuse to not doing anything. is it not worth it ? because i can tell you the whole of Bari is worth less than Luuq, the livestock export of Bosaso is primarily from Hawd and Caabudwaaq and it goes on like that.
there are no EXCUSES, infact these excuses shows your lack of morals. because lacking hospitals should motivate us in building them, lacking hospitals whiles having casulties during ongoing clashes should motivate us even more to fund a hospitals for the wounded civilians and soldiers.
remember the clashes in Wardheer ? Caabudwaaq was just a transit route to Gaalkacyo, remember what happened in the Jubbas, wounded Marexans shot dead like pigs because their purchasing power is invested in Nairobi and Alaska.

What are you talking about? Reer Gedo can invest and live in their region and should have no fear of past acts that you have entertained. Oh girl, you have so much grudges against certain Somalis. There are many who fear retribution for past acts![]()
May Allah give peace to the whole of africa.
