Arrgh Generals

Postby BlackVelvet » Mon Jul 26, 2010 9:10 am

Going on generals is harmful to your health mayn. It's like a cesspool of the most bigoted, racist, ignorant Somalis from all over the world. Seriously being around such people make me lose hope for Somalia. I swear if I read the word adoon, fufu, jareer, monkey again I will spontaneously combust.

Between the ones throwing the insults and the ones on the receiving end, who are the ones with no governemnt, no police, no security and no central bank? Bloody hell I have never even had a Somali passport. The irony is so gob smacking I can only laugh. Walee wareer aya heysto Somalida. I don't know about you lot but going on generals makes me wanna say fck somalia fck somalis we are a hopelessly screwed up lot. I'll buy a house in Cornwall and stay here :|

Awww. I feel the same sometimes...but I remain hopeful. I have tons of excuses I pull out...but sometimes I wonder is it turning a blind eye to the reality? But then..I say to myself...who are you to know reality? Or their reality? So I've taken refuge here..and ocassionally venture out there. I've realised it's best to stay away from the most controversial topics..if it has more than 4 pages..then it's best left alone.

Firefly I know, you make excuses and try to forget about it and remember all the good things about being Somali but when they keep at it it gets exhausting. I've almost stopped with the controversial topics lakin a sister can't help herself marmar dhif and that's when there are no excuses left.

*sigh* I'll listen to the Somali song Tusmo to remind me that not all Somaliness is crappy

Every delusional somali, i use to be like you but then I went and visited my people, trust me when I say that it will take many a century for our people to move in a direction that we would find suitably compatible to live with.

teeda kale this section is peaceful, I think we can have a reasonable discussion and debate in here. :rose:

It is lack of Imaan that makes people utter such disgusting words. Waa ka yaab wallah. Maxa keen all that 'fufu' 'danyeer' business? Horta Fufu isn't even caay, it is food that is even consumed in Somalia, and it is quite delicious if I may say so. In Somalia fufu is made from Maize, aka Soor.

I saw that topic. Personally I would abhor for non-Somalis to come into Somalia as peacekeeping force, I even dislike and am unsettled by the few AU soliders, I distrust them simply because they are not Somali, and I don't believe they know the full story, and my main issue is since these neighbouring states have come in to Somalia the death toll has been at an all time high. I loved the UIC, I'm not sure about the Al-Shabaab lot, but they beat Ethiopia any day  Because abaayo there are somethings that are sacred and untouched and should never happen, and that is an Ethiopian controlling Somalia, astugfurallah. The idea is abhorrent. The Somali government are losers, and that is my nicest term for them, and they should just bugger-off. I loathe the Warlords and wish they never get in to power ever again, who do we have left? :|

UN peacekeeping forces are riddled with problems, from stealing resources, to child abuse, torture, prostitution, HIV soliders and other abuses. They have already been in Somalia [the UN] and their behaviour was atrocious.

P.S. I find ignoring is the best medicine for the fools, and The General section has loads of foolish people or foolish comments. :rose:

Can you please stop pointing that finger at me, Blanket

I don't know, I guess we are all opinionated, though it may just be the mannerism in which we express them is flawed...ok I'm making excuses. Really, we all know we are ignorant, some more than others yet we continue without trying to correct. The scary thing is, this is not just a cyber issue, but real within our communities as well. I think working closely with Somalis and their families recently, I discovered many ugly and deeply rooted ideologies, wallahi it left me scarred.

Ps, if any of you is ever considering Grad school, I suggest you explore counseling especially mental health. It will greatly be resourceful and beneficial to our people.

Perfect Order,

Are u from Djbouti? If yes, would you recommend a Somali-American female to take a teaching post there, short-term? lol Is it safe and how is transportation like?

 ismahan I'm marexaan born in xamar, raised in america, my mom was born in galbeed raised in burco, my father was born in mudug moved to xamar as a young man, I don't know anything about djibouti but I met some vacationing in ethiopia cool people who know peace and stability, but I wouldn't be the person to ask.

Though I know bulk of the population lives in the capitol where it has good infrastructure and transportation. But make sure you don't go in the summer because they have a horribly hot summer so bad anyone who can leaves to ethiopia or somaliland during it. I wouldn't say safety is an issue because its your country and your people they don't differentiate between dadkooda. Ask around.

You know I think we need to freshen up on our debating skills. To just be able to argue a point without getting personal would be an achievement for our people. Like Ethiopia for example

Why is it that we block out the fact that an Ethiopian Christian king was the first to take in Muslims when they ran away from persecution? Granted that we have political rivalry and major disagreements on Ogadenia but it still does not mean that Ethiopians themselves are evil people. Take how many Somali refugees live there in peace and no one really bothers them. Kenya on the other hand also has North Eastern province and their police are shit to Somali refugees so why do we just hate Ethiopians so much. MSB made a mistake invading them and playing dice like that but our failures are our own. Horta did we have issues with them before that they were given Ogadenia and the invasion?

And what is up with Jamaicans? Wiil Jamaican camal oo udhaqma! That in itself is supposed to be such an insult it leaves me speechless  What's the deal? Is it because they are so attached to Ethiopia that they are guilty by association? They are so far off the map where did we ever get this strong animosity from?

What's this song? Tusmo? Pass the link Black-velvet.

You're right about debating skills and getting personal. Hatred for all things Jamaican stems from Somali girls marrying them apparently. Have you missed those comments? The ones where Somali girls are told to go marry a Jamaican if she dislikes or even says a negative thing about Somali men.. they're in abundance i don't know how you miss them lol. Mind you, I don't agree with the whole Somali men bashing.. battle of the sexes is just soooooo tedious.

Somalis hate Ethiopia more than they do hate Kenya because of Ethiopia's subjugation against the defenseless Somalis in Western Somalia/Ogadenia. The abuses that Somali Ogadenis recieved from the successive Ethiopian rulers far outweighs the treatment and masscres that even Palestinians suffered. Ethiopia is also a country whose military have invaded Somalia, massacred many Somalis, destroyed the life support systems that Somalis have built during the civil war, and whose intelligence agencies are active in SL, PL, Galmudug, other Central regions, and in Southern Somalia. The hate and animosity that any Somali has towards Ethiopia is justified due to its agressive policies against Somalia and its people. This is a country whose national policy is towards the dismantling of the Somali Republic from the face of the earth. Whether one believes or not, that is their national policy.

With respect to the Jamaicans, I think the Somali distaste of this group came from Canada and England where many Jamaicans live and as Firefly stated it came from Somali women running with them. It is natural for any ethnic group to dislike to those women who marry outside of their fellow kin and Somalis are no different.

LOL Blackvelevet,

Abaayo I started disliking them when I was told about their lack of hygiene, authobillah. Believe it or not, I dislike Kenya too. I'm just against a NON-Somali ruling Somalia, I don't think that is right. I agree with that we shouldn't have attacked Ethiopia bit, but what is done is done. We should've waited to be a super power then attack them if they didn't let go of the Somali provinces. :)

They loathe Jamaicans, mainly because of their culture. The majority of people Somalis had a problem with were Jamaicans, but I think our relations now days is much better. I've personally never had problems with Jamaicans, I think they are alright, but Ghanians are my favourite! Somalis can be silly runnti, we should have good ties with the Muslim Community and cordial relations with the Black Community, just like every other ethnicity. But it is all about being Muslim and Somali. :rose:

I don't think you understand what Black_velvet's point is. This isn't about the Ethiopian government and what they're doing to the people of Ogadenia..no Somali in their right mind supports that or would justify that and if they do they really need help. The problem is Somalis can't differentiate between the Ethiopian government iyo the Ethiopian masses/public. Should Ethiopian people be held responsible for what their government does? When Somalis not all but most..speak of Ethiopian people it's always negative. Somalis can't remain objective it seems. Any Somali who says something positive about Ethiopian people is a self hater or a prostitute. Take for example, black-velvet here, she was trying to be objective and she was called a prostitute. Now is that insult warranted? She was also told her likes should just marry out and do all Somalis a favour. What's that about? Take FAH1223 as an example..every time he tries to be objective about Somalia he is called a self hater. This kid has never been to Somalia or seen it..so you'd think he'd have the most objective view about Somalia's situation because he isn't tainted at all by the qabiil nonsense. But he is just told he hates his qabiil and being Somali...now is that warranted? So who are we to say FAH1223 or black-velvet love Somalia or Somali people any less than us? The problem is Somalis can't differentiate between constructive criticism and just plain hatred/negativity. A negative comment about Somalia is unaccepted and woe to any person who tries to be objective. We don't all think alike, there's always going to be a difference of opinion. That's what makes life more interesting, but Somalis seem to be under the impression if you don't think a certain way then you're not a "true Somali" It's funny how easy people are accused of not being Somali here lol, lets not even get started on all the "you're a murtad/kaafir" accusations that get thrown around so easily either. It's a false sense of pride iyo denial some Somalis are living in. It's easy to point the finger to Ethiopia (I'm not denying their involvement) but ultimately it isn't Ethiopia, Kenya or USA who destroyed Somalia. It's Somalis who did this and it's them who continue to spill each others blood. It's Somalis who destroyed their beautiful country..and it's Somalis who made their own people displaced..and refugees all over the world. You were asking what should be done about all the Somali youths in jails. Why are they there in the first place? Somali youth are suffering from an identity crisis..Somali culture ma'la heestaan and the culture of their host countries ma gaari karaan. They're lost in the melting pot. May Allah swt help them insha-Allah.

I was listening to this lecture just xaleeyto and the Somali Shaykh was saying: " Akhlaaq fiican iyo Deenta lugu faana"..but Somaalida being Somali is faan for them..ama Darood ama Hawiye etc.. wax lugu faano ma'ahan.
