Warsan lool@ superpower, we'd be such bullies  I wouldn't want any country ruling over Somalia, taas waad ku saxsantahay lakin odd maxaa ah that you have Somali refugees living in Ethiopia and they insult Ethiopians or you have them Kenya ayakoo dagan and they have the nerve to insult Kenyans and think they're above these people. Not the governments or the politicians but the actual people. To me that's beyond arrogance. I don't know what the antidote for that mentality could be but if you ever come across it balis na sii

Firefly marwo you get exactly what I mean :rose:

Here's the song:

I love the words, so respectful if only I was called Amina

I don't think you understand what Black_velvet's point is. This isn't about the Ethiopian government and what they're doing to the people of Ogadenia..no Somali in their right mind supports that or would justify that and if they do they really need help. The problem is Somalis can't differentiate between the Ethiopian government iyo the Ethiopian masses/public. Should Ethiopian people be held responsible for what their government does? When Somalis not all but most..speak of Ethiopian people it's always negative. Somalis can't remain objective it seems. Any Somali who says something positive about Ethiopian people is a self hater or a prostitute. Take for example, black-velvet here, she was trying to be objective and she was called a prostitute. Now is that insult warranted? She was also told her likes should just marry out and do all Somalis a favour. What's that about? Take FAH1223 as an example..every time he tries to be objective about Somalia he is called a self hater. This kid has never been to Somalia or seen it..so you'd think he'd have the most objective view about Somalia's situation because he isn't tainted at all by the qabiil nonsense. But he is just told he hates his qabiil and being Somali...now is that warranted? So who are we to say FAH1223 or black-velvet love Somalia or Somali people any less than us? The problem is Somalis can't differentiate between constructive criticism and just plain hatred/negativity. A negative comment about Somalia is unaccepted and woe to any person who tries to be objective. We don't all think alike, there's always going to be a difference of opinion. That's what makes life more interesting, but Somalis seem to be under the impression if you don't think a certain way then you're not a "true Somali" It's funny how easy people are accused of not being Somali here lol, lets not even get started on all the "you're a murtad/kaafir" accusations that get thrown around so easily either. It's a false sense of pride iyo denial some Somalis are living in. It's easy to point the finger to Ethiopia (I'm not denying their involvement) but ultimately it isn't Ethiopia, Kenya or USA who destroyed Somalia. It's Somalis who did this and it's them who continue to spill each others blood. It's Somalis who destroyed their beautiful country..and it's Somalis who made their own people displaced..and refugees all over the world. You were asking what should be done about all the Somali youths in jails. Why are they there in the first place? Somali youth are suffering from an identity crisis..Somali culture ma'la heestaan and the culture of their host countries ma gaari karaan. They're lost in the melting pot. May Allah swt help them insha-Allah.

I was listening to this lecture just xaleeyto and the Somali Shaykh was saying: " Akhlaaq fiican iyo Deenta lugu faana"..but Somaalida being Somali is faan for them..ama Darood ama Hawiye etc.. wax lugu faano ma'ahan.
I think I did understand what BV was saying and that is why I responded. In Africa, most of the governments are utocratic and there is only one Radio and one TV that people listen to, so both the government and the people think alike. If you really see how the Ethiopians see the Ogaden region, nearly each one of them with the exception of Oramos would tell you that it is theirs. To them as long as there is a Somali group that want self determination, the harsh measures of the Ethiopian govermment is justified. Let us get real here, the main sticking point between the Somalis and Ethiopians are deep rooted in Ogaden fconflict and their treatment of fellow Somalis over there. Have you ever seen Amharas and Tigrayans demostrating against the brutality of the Ethiopian goverment against Ogadenis? I have yet to see it. Every Christian ruler in Ethiopia will continue that path as long as there is a Somali group in that region that want self determination for Somalis in Ogadenia / Western Somalia.

I also reject it is only the Somalis who displaced their people. If that is the case, why did the west reverse the progress of the revolution and upraising in 2006 in Southern Somalia? How come the last two rebel groups (USC and SNM) who picked the arms against the last functioning Somali govermment was funded and armed by the west? How was it possible that all of the factions were getting weapons and funding from the west and any peace that was supposed to take hold was sabotaged by the west intelligence and stooges on the ground? How can they send a merciless mercenary force to Somalia whose sole goal is to massacre the Somali people mercilessly in Mogadishu and deny Somalis to take in charge of their own destiny? I never understood how can the peace and stability in Southern Somalia is a threat to the so-called world peace? Sister, I think we should think out of the box and see the bigger game and the path they set for us. We should only count on Allah and pray to him that we will overcome all of the road blocks that they are putting in front us. Count on Allah and pray to him.

 ismahan I'm marexaan born in xamar, raised in america, my mom was born in galbeed raised in burco, my father was born in mudug moved to xamar as a young man, I don't know anything about djibouti but I met some vacationing in ethiopia cool people who know peace and stability, but I wouldn't be the person to ask.

Though I know bulk of the population lives in the capitol where it has good infrastructure and transportation. But make sure you don't go in the summer because they have a horribly hot summer so bad anyone who can leaves to ethiopia or somaliland during it. I wouldn't say safety is an issue because its your country and your people they don't differentiate between dadkooda. Ask around.
ohh   Well thanks for the input bro.

Somali dislike towards Jamaicans has nothing to do with women getting with them. There is tension between the communities due to the growing size of the somali community in inner cities which was previously predominantly by Afro-Carribeans. Bristol is one of those cities that has fast growing somali population and the tension is simmering. Just like everybody else you will suffer from crime when you live in a poor area, Somalis blame it on the Jamaicans. Many Somali children have also been bullied in school when they are new to the country and have generally had a bad experience with Jamaicans whether its due to not speaking the language or not acting tough enough and thus a soft target to pick on. Jamaicans from my experience are not the friendliest neighbours and have an attiude (except rastas-they are cool people  ). Gangs are a problem as well and all it does is pin them against each other.
