When those that make the greatest intelectual contribution to the vast majority of the day to day topics are singledout for punishement we are left with an ever increasing proportion of ignorant, illmannered and intelectually bankrupt majority.

If the ban option is an important tool for this site then the members must have the opportunity to raise a grievance against those of the Mods who are abussive in their function.

What happened these two members was totally wrong and they were forced to respond then punished for their reactions to unfair treatment.

marc i totally agree with you on this one, i for one cant stand the borderline athiest TL and i dont even know the other guy, but the last thing we need in the forum is trigger happy Mods who ban people they dont like.

bro you need to make your request to the admin to remove some Mods, if you care to mention the mods who are involved in this it will increase the posibility of actually getting them removed instead of attacking the whole Forum.

TL used to be a rational & engaging forumer, but lately, he has become too obsessed with qabyaalad and anyone who goes down that path is playing with fire. Anyhow, I don't think they should've been banned. Homosexuals, Islam-bashers, brain-dead trolls who flood the forum with meaningless topics e.g. exposing the pics of Somali girls, qabiil topics, etc should be banned. The forum is already on life-support as it is, we can't afford to ban the few forumers who add some substance.

I am saddened by this irresponsible and shameful abuse of power by the mods. Those who contribute to the diversity and intellectual debate in somalinet should not be banned for minor offenses. As others have said, banning should be used as a last resort. And while I don't have any particular fondness for either of these two individuals, others who have done/said far worse than they are free to continue posting.

There we go, some are just playing the victimhood card If the MODs warn me, I will make sure I remain compliant with that order and respect their decision. After All SNET is providing us free forum to express our views and when we cross the line and we are warned, we should be compliant with that order.

If some also make a business out of bashing certain Somali clans, they should also be warned and banned eventually if they don't remain obedient to the MODs' decisions. I think we should all be respectful. How about that?

I know 99% of snet forumers are nice and decent people and this post goes to the few others.

This bulletin board is a burden on SomaliNet and every moderator u see around here is volunteering his/her valuable time to keep the place functioning. SomaliNet pays bandwidth on every page you access on these forums just to give you a place that's conductive to community interaction. Do you see any advertisement on these forums? None of the mods or admins gets paid too. Having said all that, we expect you not to abuse our resources. Feel free to use this resource as long as you use it with respect and decency. We are not begging anyone to be decent and we reserve the right to ban abusers and spammers. We always tell you to contact the mods if you see someone crossing the line. If you see some1 posting nasty stuff and u keep quiet, don't tell us about it when you or your friend gets warned about similar stuff. Moderaors cannot read every post and it is your duty to report abuse. This excuse of hebel did this and got away with it while I am being singled out is not gonna work. If you misuse this free for all resource you will risk your membership being revoked.

For instance, we told you so many times to use the clan section for clan related topics, we told you to exercise respect and restrain when interacting with others, we told you to stop hate propaganda of any kind while using somalinet forums. How many of you have the decency to respect us and follow our simple guidelines like the one on top of this forum.

Back to this topic: People get banned every day and these two members are no exception. We are not begging anyone to abide by the forum rules, we are demanding it. The simple fact is that "use this resource and do not abuse it" If you have no respect for somalinet or forum operators then we have no respect for you. How come none of you who are now complaining about banned members report abuse? Some of you even turned so many topics into clan trash. Be proactive and help moderators do their job and we will listen to you. For the record I will personally ban people who turn topics into clan business or start clan topics on the general forum. You have been told to use the clan section for all clan topics.

Why was hebel banned. That's between hebel and who banned him. Again, u need to become part of the solution and help mods before you come out of nowhere and complain about banned ppl.
