All the political crap aside!!!

Put your money where your finger is. The Koonfurians who have migrated north need to organise themselves and have a means to be supported from the diaspora.

- Setup an account with dahabshiil

All koonfurian diaspora will commit $1 dollar a month, that will assure ever koonfurian is living in a 4bedroom vila.

Well we are witnessing political and social inbalance. Technically, those IDP champs that are set up, do not qualify for International aid since Somaliland is not Internationally recognised. Consequently, there is a social detachment from the locals as they dont have the means to help these people economically,as they themsleves are in their own struggle nor do they have the political power to advocate for them.
Also, the claims of Somaliland booming economically and being socially progressive might just be inaccurate as the revenues and business structure is far more successful in the South, though with the increased instabilty should aid in changing that course eventually...

Just to correct you there...Somaliland receives more international support than the Koonfur. The excuse the UN and other NGOs use is usually that the south is too dangerous to help so most of their programmes are aimed at Somaliland and Puntland.

About the IDPs...you can't really blame Somaliland since those people would live in the same conditions whether it be Kenya, Ethiopia or Yemen. Poor displaced people always live in dumps like that. The thing we reer koonfur will always be grateful for is that they welcomed our people when they were in the thick of it. Qofkii abaal kuu galo waa loo gudaa, ma'lagu jisaaro. I think some of us have a short memory. Having said that I still consider Somaliland part of Somalia...marka...Somalia ha noolaato.

Somalinimo cost us 20 years not to mention 30years prior wasted on the same matter. Koonfur peace requires koonfur centric bais.

I am all for a new drafted agreement between the 3 countries that make up the former somalia republic. In it's old state you are sharing koonfur resources with 2 countries that are resourceless.

Eyes,
What about the International funding the TFG get from various organizations? Where is that meant to go?
The fair question to ask is if the aid received by Somaliland aimed specifically for the people in the champs or for the people of "Somaliland" ? The reality is unless it is a privately contracted donor or a small NGO, there is nobody coming to assist in any way the people in these champs. And clearly S/Land will use those funds on the needs of its own "people" before they can do anything for those in the IDP champs, hence the social imbalance.
And I do agree with you that the blame shouldn't be put on Somaliland since the same conditions if not worse exist in other parts of the region.

In 10 years Borama, shedheer and Tafari Ber will become 3 hawiye cities the way things are going now. Our brothers and sisters from Konfuur have built new lives in these lands and are now very much stable. The next generation will be born there and they will have no reason of going back to their original native lands.

They are clearly very happy:

The children of the displaced people's get access to full education in both Borama and Tefari Ber:

The TFG gets millions of pounds from the international community and does not give a penny to Somaliland even though as some you have claimed Somaliland is in the eyes of the international community part of Somalia. We dont on one hand claim to be part of Somalia and get a large share of the TFG money whilst at the same time deporting Somalis from the south. Our position has been clear and constant. We believe that we are two seperate countries and anybody who comes from the south will be treated the same as anyone from an outside country. I dont understand the aim of this topic. So what, poor Somalis from both north and south somali dwell in Somaliland. Whats the big deal? :sland:

Ismahan123,

I think you said enough and said it well.

Eyes-only:

You’re right Somaliland receives its share of charity contribution from international donars. Hint, the amount they receive is based on the “Somali republic” formula. Which means each region gets lump sum to take care of its own. The amount Somaliland receives isn’t enough to go beyond its jurisdiction and take care of all Somalis. However, they’re trying to accommodate those displaced by the war in the south.

Whether you believe Somaliland exists or not is irrelevant in this debate and to be honest, it’s a bit contradicting to your argument of why Somaliland should do more for these people.
