Well we are witnessing political and social inbalance. Technically, those IDP champs that are set up, do not qualify for International aid since Somaliland is not Internationally recognised. Consequently, there is a social detachment from the locals as they dont have the means to help these people economically,as they themsleves are in their own struggle nor do they have the political power to advocate for them.
Also, the claims of Somaliland booming economically and being socially progressive might just be inaccurate as the revenues and business structure is far more successful in the South, though with the increased instabilty should aid in changing that course eventually...

Just to correct you there...Somaliland receives more international support than the Koonfur. The excuse the UN and other NGOs use is usually that the south is too dangerous to help so most of their programmes are aimed at Somaliland and Puntland.
About the IDPs...you can't really blame Somaliland since those people would live in the same conditions whether it be Kenya, Ethiopia or Yemen. Poor displaced people always live in dumps like that. The thing we reer koonfur will always be grateful for is that they welcomed our people when they were in the thick of it. Qofkii abaal kuu galo waa loo gudaa, ma'lagu jisaaro. I think some of us have a short memory. Having said that I still consider Somaliland part of Somalia...marka...Somalia ha noolaato.

The TFG gets millions of pounds from the international community and does not give a penny to Somaliland even though as some you have claimed Somaliland is in the eyes of the international community part of Somalia. We dont on one hand claim to be part of Somalia and get a large share of the TFG money whilst at the same time deporting Somalis from the south. Our position has been clear and constant. We believe that we are two seperate countries and anybody who comes from the south will be treated the same as anyone from an outside country. I dont understand the aim of this topic. So what, poor Somalis from both north and south somali dwell in Somaliland. Whats the big deal?![]()
