Jilib in 2007

I Originally came to Snet looking for friends I made when I taught ESL at the government school in Jilib. I was there mid-Sixties, left in 1967 and was cut off from mail service immediately after the Kacaan.

Flag one, on the left, is a pile of rubble where the post office and the DC's office and house were. The second flag is a pile of rubble where the government school was. The third flag is the lot where my house was. I can't find the Agraria fields, the leprosarium or the mayor's house. It looks like someone

The rest of Jilib has grown some but is quite recognizable. The villages across the river have roughly quadrupled in size and the cultivated area has vastly increased. The white structures to the west of town are new, as is most of the cultivated area east of them.

It has been a long time, but I believe my answers are clear.......

I learned a lot from you guys, and appreciated it greatly, but it became clear even before I left that I am not an appropriate member here. I may stop by occassionally to check the headlines, but Fuusto need not worry about any continual presence.

:som:  Special thanks to Monk for the idea of using Google. Best regards and wishes to you all.
