I'm Somali, sure. But being American is not an ethnic identifier. The whole world has its people living in America.

Being WHITE is not the litimus test for being American. The White people immigrated here and stole the land from the Native American tribes.

haye haaye baal u are american

FAH she won't understand since she lives in Europe and there are actually ethnic Swedes who consider others to be outsiders, unlike America no one is ethnically American except the natives.

   Exactly. Everyone came here from Europe, Africa and in recent decades from Asia and South America.

Qoraxey, 200 years is nothing in history. The Native Americans were here for thousands of years! Now they are only a couple million left. African and European origin Americans aren't true to this land at all!

BTW... Somalis need to quit faking! I know at least half ya'll are gonna be eating Turkey with some hilib ari and pumpkin pie tonight (those in the states)!

So what do you lot do to celebrate Thanksgiving? Do you do the whole turkey and presents thing? I find it distasteful to celebrate the evil acts of your nation's forefathers.

It's better to just celebrate Christmas instead. I love Christmas lights and the carol singers....walking down the high street in this time of year is just awesome.

All people do is have Turkey and most people have today and tomorrow off... along with the weekend... so its a 4 day weekend. I never heard of people exchanging gifts on Thanksgiving, its just an excuse to pack on two days worth of calories into one meal

I guess for Somalis it's any excuse to eat more meat right? In that case I'll join the festivities since we have an American calendar
