Yes we are not as wild as other Somalis, we are disciplined and settled people.

Adal is Gadabursi period and Awash is also a recently Gadabursi held territory. We have new locals arriving there every day to farm around the God blessed valley.

St8OuttaDirree,

Are the Somali warriors in the video Xarla?

I think you need escorts when you are working thru the Afars? The information I heard about them in that area is a Somali should never trust working thru them due to the millenium long conflict between Somali Issa and Afars. Any how, good luck and stay safe

warya butter is subag and I do believe somalis of reer miyi apply it on their hair.
Yes, they used to apply that butter (burcad) in the past.  I believe they used to apply it before they got married. It was a sign of being a single.

I have heard they have a long running conflict that goes back to millenia and it has never been settled. Both the Somali Issa and Afars claim their most fearsome tribesmen live in that area.

The Afars tried to make an alliance with the Gadabursi because we are the only clan who know how to deal with the Isse. The Afars cannot atch the Isse in strength.

Its known that its Djiboutis ambition that Issa control the Afar valley and they do help their tribes men.
Afar lost a lot of territory but Issas do not have access to the river yet.

The reason is no Ethio government can afford somalis controlling the Asab-Addis road.
they let win Issa in the wild desert, but when they come closer to the strategic part they drive them back.

Life time advice to everybody on this board: Don’t boast about yourself or your tribe. It’s pathetic. It shows a sense of overcompensation.

there is a somali saying that goes its better not to say that my dad had 100 camels rather say I have donkeys.

Meaning what your dad owned does not belong to you and just claim what you own even if its just a single mule
