Somaliland:Former President Dahir Kahin Expected To Return

Postby Coeus » Thu Dec 02, 2010 7:21 am

Reports coming from Hargeia are saying that former President Dahir Riyale Kahin is expected to return to the country after three months vacation in Europe. Mr. Riyale Kahin who is currently in London, UK is expected to return in time for UDUB party’s convention that is expected to begin next month. Source close to opposition party UDUB have confirmed to us that the party will undergo new transformation after it was defeated in the recent election which Kulmiye party has gained the presidency.

On another note, UDUB party has recently named eight members committee that will be handling the affairs of the party. Ever since the party lost the recent election to Kulmiye party, UDUB has been in disarray; where by any party member was able to call himself the party spokesman or the party leader.
Few of the individuals whom have been named into these committees are Mr. Hussein Ali Duale who is the former Minister of Finance and who will be the chairman to administer the party’s political affairs. Mr. Osman Abdullahi Egal who was the party’s campaign manager has been named Director of Finance for the party and his Vice Director Mr. Ali Mohamed Waran Adde who is the former Aviation Minister.

To sum it up this new shakeup of the party is being seen as a first step towards become a legitimate opposition party that may be able to content with Kulmiye, after UDUB’s defeat at June 26th election in which President Silaanyo of Kulmiye party has won.
