Should Somaliland implement sharia law

Postby The_Emperior5 » Sat Dec 25, 2010 10:36 am

The People of Somaliland are 100% muslim people and shouldn't be time to impose sharia law in our country.
I mean if we impose sharia law in our country it will only have a positive impact in our society and land . For Muslim people once you are a Muslim the sharia law becomes Binding on you for Muslim people there for the sharia law is not only law but a way of life ,that includes crime Economics trade politics hygiene prayer fasting inheritance Marriage divorce Justice Etc so a muslim must follow the sharia.Every Muslim in the world must live by the sacred precepts of the sharia A muslim person may not opt out of it for it he does so he is in breach with allahs almighty Laws. So how do you guys think a sharia law Somaliland would look a like in the future.

Yes implement it, because you are not muslim if you don't follow Allah's laws.

It must be implemented correctly which maybe difficult but must be done as best as possible

Emperior, the sharia is the law of Somaliland as per the constitution of Somaliland.
It says in the constitution any law which contravenes the sharia is null and void, but there are many laws which contravene the sharia espically the indian penal code which is still in use in Somaliland, and is thus the reason we need to make changes to the constitution.

I presume null and void means exactly what it states. The ultimate law as per the constitution is the sharia and any "Indian" law which goes against the sharia is null and void.

Exactly we should draft a new penal code based on sharia principles

Garad I don't think there is anything to draft, the sharia is the law of the land in somaliland. I'm not sure if you mean draft a document which detail the sharia? That would be like re inventing the wheel.
