The Army is with the people. The Secret Police is with Mubarak.
BBC Arabic radio reporting that gunmen fired on protesters camped in Tahrir Square, and the soldiers based nearby returned fire, and were able to arrest one gunman, who turned out to be a member of the secret police. Anybody surprised?

I can tell you this Hanad. The army is loyal to whom ever pays its due. For the past 30 years, much of Egypts defense budget came directly from the Pentagon in washington. In fact, the Chief of the Egyptian army was in the Pentagon before all this fuss broke out.

Mubarak gambled that the army would support him against his own people, it's a common delusion that dictators have.

It's official, the Egyptian army will not fight the protesters, and they will not stop the million man march.
