I don't think it works in our favour at all. To you, as someone who has knowledge of Islam, he may seem a fool who knows little about Islam and you may have realised he mispronounced sharia; the vast majority of gaalo folks however, know very little about Islam apart from what the media feeds them. Therfore he is shaping the way that they perceive and think about muslims. In contrast to other extreme groups e.g. the BNP, this group claims to be against muslims only and to have amoungst its membership verious ethnicities (i.e. the well known sikh guy) which puts muslims in a precarious position.Although the BBC is a propaganda machine , providing the EDL platform to air their views worked in favour for us Muslims. Why, because it showed their thuggish behavior, their lack of knowledge about Islam, and their fascist views. This guy couldn't even pronounce Sharia, he kept going on and on about Barbaric Islam when most of their followers brags about how they want to bash pakis heads in. They honestly believe they are defending England. From what, Muslims make about 2.5 million out of 60 million population.
One thing that really pissed me of was when he said Muslims should modernize the Qur'an. Because you modernize the bible every 4 years doesn't mean we as Muslims should. The Quran has been here over 1400 years it hasn't been changed and it will NEVER change
