how do you know Kabul is thriving? a stadium and couple of buildings don't mean anything as long as you are occupied by foreign forces who are mujrimeen. unwise people like you are the main reason why we are having so much trouble in Muslim countries. you can easily be misled and can be used against your own brothers and sisters. wise up bro!!!

Good for them, and good for America. But i am kinda pissed off that america's economy had to fall to build the freedom of afghans and iraqis--but in away it is worth it.

While you might be right about Kabul, the fact of the matter is that the same old warlords (reminds of you somalia innit) control most of the country. In these areas, women are subjected to sexual and other forms of abuse. I remember reading an article which concluded that the status of women had gotten WORSE post-taliban. Women in these areas are still forced to wear the burqa, but unlike in the taliban days, they are subjected to sexual abuse etc.

My view of the taliban is like AL-shabaab: While i respect their intentions in someform, the way they go about things turns me against them.

The coalition forces are generally stationed outside the major cities and are only involved in keeping the Taliban and other radical groups at bay. The pictures of the stadium and new developments within Kabul are there to show that progress is being made and prosperity is returning to Afghanistan, contrary to propaganda of the talibs. Having one's country occupied is never a good thing, but in the case of the overthrow of the taliban it's a necessary action. The people of Afghanistan are now free.

The warlords are supported by deep tribal allegiances, like Somalia, that are difficult to debase. Each and every day Afghanistan is nonetheless making progress towards equality, and to suggest that women were better off under the taliban is ridiculous. Women were literally imprisoned in their houses nationwide and couldn't leave without being escorted by a male. Women Working was banned, and a girl going to school was an inconceivable idea. How can you "respect" people who forced such jahilnimo on people violently?
