Fighting between ARDUF & TPLF- Ethiopian Forces!

Heavy fighting between Afar Revolutionary Democratic Union Front (ARDUF) UGUUGUMO freedom fighters and those of the TPLF-Ethiopian regime forces is currently taking place in the vicinity of Qado-Qale (Ado-Ale) area of Mabaya town, District of Teeru –Zone four of the State of Afar. UGUUGUMO freedom fighters from the 'Mabaya Unit' are engaging in severe fighting with TPLF-Ethiopian troops.

Forty five (45) TPLF- Ethiopian troops have been killed in the first round of fighting since the 5th of February 2011, with dozens of TPLF forces critically wounded. TPLF- Ethiopian forces killed five ethnic Afar pastoralists in the area, while they were grazing their herds, and two of these five civilians died by hanging at the hands of the TPLF-Ethiopian soldiers.

ARDUF (UGUUGUMO) freedom fighter have captured the staging strategic position and an arms depository belonging to the TPLF-Ethiopian forces unit operating near to Teeru District of Zone four (Zone 4) of the Afar State.
Given the above situation the ARDUF (UGUUGUMO) has declared its determination to continue its armed rightful struggle until our democratic and constitutional rights are fully guaranteed, our human rights is respected and our landownership rights is fully recognized
