Gaalkacyo is out of control

Postby Voltage » Sun Apr 17, 2011 5:23 am

Puntland's level of insecurity is brimming under the radar, actually reminds me of Kismaayo before Shabaab took over. Assasinations and silent extra-judicial killings. Two days the minister of religion and conduct of Puntland was bombed, and in retaliation a group stormed a mosque opening fire...actually it seems like akhwaan vs. suufi playing tit for tat..now the mayor of Gaalkacyo says Gaalkacyo is getting to becoming uncontrollable and out of Puntland security control

Gunmen storm Somalia mosque, kill 5

(AFP) – 12 hours ago

MOGADISHU — Gunmen stormed a mosque in the Somali city of Galkayo Saturday and sprayed gunfire on worshippers, killing at least five and wounding 10, security officials and witnesses said.

It was not immediately clear who the attackers were but the carnage took place hours after a senior official from the ministry of religious affairs of Puntland was killed in a roadside bomb attack in Galkayo.

Keep us (O Lord) on the right path, the path of those upon whom You have bestowed Your bounties, not (the path) of those, inflicted with Your wrath, nor (of those) gone astray.

May Allah lift the shadow from the heart of all those driven by hate.

Amiin!!!

Aamiin, all of Somalia needs that duco. I can't understand what kind of hate would cause anyone to assassinate or even more for that matter to go into a mosque and open fire on people doing nothing but praying. Wallahi Soomaalidu wada bahalay noqdeen
The unknown gunmen opened fire on worshippers at a mosque on early Saturday evening killing five instantly, while another subsequently died of wounds sustained in the attack. Eleven people were also wounded in the attack, local police said.

"The assailants came to the mosque soon after people began to perform evening prayers and started shooting at worshippers indiscriminately, killing five of them on the spot and 12 others were also wounded," Osman Hiis, a local police officer, told Xinhua.

I just came from a friends house and he discovered his real uncle was shot dead in galgacyo, I believe he was wadaad or something but AUN and the people of galgacyo must not take peace for granted and actually do something about that nonsense.

Xarardheere is not that far from Gaalkacyo.
Once shabaab finishes suufis off, it will be a walk show in Gaalkacyo and most cities of binti zenawiland.
If that happens(capturing galgaduud and galmudug) i advice the hutus to change shirts and hijack shabaab's leadership.

I remember how people went crazy about Prof Samatar's quote that the, " the religion has become a bloody business," a little over a year ago. I am pretty sure that those that called him an apostate then will reconsider. Once you preach a hateful religious agenda, there is no telling the consequences this will have for society. For far too long, our people have been brought to suck in every sort of deranged and lunatic ideas so long as it came from religious men; today we are seeing the blow-back affect of that misguided thinking.

So the Pirate state is crumbling, thats a shame. On a more positive note it can only help our quest for recognition.

Why do you inject yourself into everything?

Twisted you have a group of people who take advantage of the religion, but this conflict might not be about religion.

Sxb, you have to look at things positive even if the negatives out weigh them. Puntland is a thorn in Somalilands feet and its imblosion would be satisfactory. Nothing personal its just raw politics. I mean didn't you guy's take advantage of bringing the Ethiopians into Bakara Market and looting it in the process?

Folks are going to mosques belonging to people of different Islamic strand and massacring them because they don't accept them as Muslims. Of course, this is about religion. Once the parameters of any religious doctrine are not appropriately defined and guarded, you run the risk of empowering and inspiring the brutes of society into misusing and abusing the religion. It's sad that people can't understand this simple fact. For the sake of the religion and the preservation of our people, it will help if the religion is moved as far away as possible from politics, obviously massacring the religious fringe elements will def help.
