Sxb, you have to look at things positive even if the negatives out weigh them. Puntland is a thown in Somalilands feet and its imblosion would be satisfactory. Nothing personal its just raw politics. I mean didn't you guy's take advantage of bringing the Ethiopians into Bakara Market and looting it in the process?

So the Pirate state is crumbling, thats a shame. On a more positive note it can only help our quest for recognition.

Why do you inject yourself into everything?

Twisted you have a group of people who take advantage of the religion, but this conflict might not be about religion.
Folks are going to mosques belonging to people of different Islamic strand and massacring them because they don't accept them as Muslims. Of course, this is about religion. Once the parameters of any religious doctrine are not appropriately defined and guarded, you run the risk of empowering and inspiring the brutes of society into misusing and abusing the religion. It's sad that people can't understand this simple fact. For the sake of the religion and the preservation of our people, it will help if the religion is moved as far away as possible from politics, obviously massacring the religious fringe elements will def help.
True, but just like alshabab you have misguided individuals who think they are killing for the sake of Islam, when in fact they are are doing the opposite. But we are Muslims and our politics must be intact with our religion, maybe at the moment that might not look like the best solution. If we move our religion away from our politics than we will soon start to drift away from our religion, I mean look at some of the western countries, they did that and look at them today. You would be lucky to find a person who actually believes in the "existence" of god in some countries.

North Gaalkacyo is a dangerous/lawless place. I pray hard when crossing the greenline and try to get the fock out of there.

Fortunately, the Suufi Southside is not affected by this violence. The few numbers of ikhwaan and other Shabab leaning radicals is the main reason behind the stability of the Southside.

Between the aano qabiil war between the Ciise Maxmud and Cumar Maxmud which has lead to a massive displacement of Cumar Maxmud men from Garowe and Ciise Maxmud from Galkayo, things are quite unsafe in Puntland.

I am quite surprised that the Puntlanders are not blaming Galmudug and the South for their civil conflict. The tendency to blame the South for all violence was a cheap excuse which prevented the Puntland authority from tackling the extremist threat at home.

Bottomline: Puntland is on the verge of full blown civil war. For those who rejoice, remember that when your neighbor's home is on fire, its a matter of time before the fire burns your home.

I remember how people went crazy about Prof Samatar's quote that the, " the religion has become a bloody business," a little over a year ago. I am pretty sure that those that called him an apostate then will reconsider. Once you preach a hateful religious agenda, there is no telling the consequences this will have for society. For far too long, our people have been brought to suck in every sort of deranged and lunatic ideas so long as it came from religious men; today we are seeing the blow-back affect of that misguided thinking.
