True, but just like alshabab you have misguided individuals who think they are killing for the sake of Islam, when in fact they are are doing the opposite. But we are Muslims and our politics must be intact with our religion, maybe at the moment that might not look like the best solution. If we move our religion away from our politics than we will soon start to drift away from our religion, I mean look at some of the western countries, they did that and look at them today. You would be lucky to find a person who actually believes in the "existence" of god in some countries.Folks are going to mosques belonging to people of different Islamic strand and massacring them because they don't accept them as Muslims. North Gaalkacyo is a dangerous/lawless place. I pray hard when crossing the greenline and try to get the fock out of there.
Fortunately, the Suufi Southside is not affected by this violence. The few numbers of ikhwaan and other Shabab leaning radicals is the main reason behind the stability of the Southside.
Between the aano qabiil war between the Ciise Maxmud and Cumar Maxmud which has lead to a massive displacement of Cumar Maxmud men from Garowe and Ciise Maxmud from Galkayo, things are quite unsafe in Puntland.
I am quite surprised that the Puntlanders are not blaming Galmudug and the South for their civil conflict. The tendency to blame the South for all violence was a cheap excuse which prevented the Puntland authority from tackling the extremist threat at home.
Bottomline: Puntland is on the verge of full blown civil war. For those who rejoice, remember that when your neighbor's home is on fire, its a matter of time before the fire burns your home.
