Sometimes antipsychotic medication is inevitable.

Look at that Patriot insinuating the guy is possessed by jini, so the dude can't be mentally ill? ma lazim baa inu jini qabo, typical attitude by a typical Somali, go figure.

Nabeela the white man will just diagnose any one with hearing voices as bein Schezophrenic and infact they will prescribe to him a medication that has side effects and over time they will increase its dosage and will reduce the individual to being a zombie and in the end will be addicted to the medication. When the level of dosage cannot be increased and no furhter medication can be prescribed to him/her the person will go bonkers and would live his entire remaining life in an institution as they might turn out to be violent.

But the thing is science negates Jins and other supernatural beings or conditions such as Sixir or Vudoo. Hence the only viable medication is Quraan tibiyanan likuli shey wa hudan wraxmatal lil calamin.

Anyway Keyse the are times whne you can save someone and when its over.

If the Jin over stays then problems arises and would be consequential.

thus when the traffic lights start to signal the earlier the guy is treated the better.

Keyse how would you explain married guys that went bonkers? does he need another wife?

What if it's not jini, what than? maxa lagu sameen qofkaas, just let him suffer? every medication has side effects and risks that is a fact, the advantage is alot greater than the disadvantage on the long run. There are certain medications specifically invented to control this illness, without it the person will just suffer, you have to keep that in mind. I don't think Murax's friend has jini, the symptoms he described is very common with people who have schizophrenic and the illness is real so your assertions are hugely flawed.I worked with some of these folks and trust me I know what I'm talking about. People with these type of illness don't get better on their own and they will get worse without treatment. There is no need to sweep it under the rug and calle it something it isn't, or deny it all together, It can be easily controlled with medication, they will take their dose as prescribed and function like normal people and go on with their lives, and eventually get better. We Somalis dismiss depression/mental illness and brush it off as it's no biggie, so and so wuu waashay, hawa kadis ha la siio, he/she will be just fine, it doesn't work like that.

obviously there re genuine cases, but from what i know i would say 70% of these people use the crazy card as "mar-marsiin" or as a cry for help to families, communities and authorities. im talking about the ones who have been to the bottom and have no way out.

I have friend who things using internet is "Gaalnimo". Making videos and puting into "Youtube" wuxuu u qabaa "waali". I believe most Somalis are bi-polar. Since they fear of everything. We can not have medical that can cure 9 million Somalis.

First I thought it was culture thing, but I find out it was mental problem. Allah na caafiyo kuligeen.

he probably has manic bipolar disorder he should be taken to a doctor to get evaluated and given medicine.

I have a brother who was diagnosed with paranoia schrizonphrenic disorder, where we had no clue, he said he had the symptoms for nearly 10 years now, we got him to the top specialist in mental illness in the greater seattle area and he diagnosed him, gave him some medicine, i swear, when I use to see him he would always start fights and didn't make sense in his delusions but now you wouldn't think he was the same person. Some people are so far gone, they need medicine no doubt. Now he has the opportunity to change his life around, where before the illness took control of his life. Murax tell the family not to be shy to take him to a doctor.

Thanks for the input guys.

Nabeela,

Yea You're right, He has all the symptoms of having that.

Patriot,

Like Nabeela said Quraanka is a cure for everything not just jinn, but Somalis in their ignorance view all mental health issues as jinn which is far from the case. Sometimes some people lose it mentaly.

PO,

Yea, I told his family but He told His family if You come to My State to come check on Me I won't talk to You again. He thinks he's perfectly fine, and will probably lash out at somebody for the mere suggestion that He has a mental issue.
