Postby fatimazahra » Mon May 09, 2011 1:34 am

According to some of his colleagues who requested their identities to be concealed for security grounds; Abdifitah Hussein Osman was arrested early today by Al-Shabab militia men in Kismayo accusing him of aiding TFG government forces in Gedo.

Abdifitah Hessein Osman is the head of accounting department at Hormuud Telecom’s branch office in Kismayo; he recently had disputes with the local Al-Shabaab Administration in Kismayo over financial matters believed to be related to Al-Shabab’s constant extortion of money from Hormuud Telecom’s Branch office in Kismayo.

Mareeg online has tried to contact Hormuud telecom’s Administration at their HQ inside Bakara Market in Mogadishu; they confirmed one of their key employees in Kismayo has been arrested by Al-Shabaab declining to give further information on the incident.

Al-Shabaab is a radical Islamist rebel group in Somalia with alleged ties to Al-Qaida and international terrorism networks; they accustomed to blackmail and extort money from local business men to secure some crucial funds for their terrorist rebel group.
