Miami Mega Jail

Postby 1_londoner » Tue May 31, 2011 10:46 am

Who watched the 2 part series?

Bliiiiiimey.....The American Prison system is mental! How can the majority of the inmates be awaiting trial but say theyve been stuck there for a good 4/5/6/7 years without even going to court. One guy, who got beat up pretty bad in one of the cells.... (Inmates say he was a snitch, he said it was over a bunk lol)..... said he'd been charged for just Driving with a suspended license or something and hes been sent to this place....sheesh. Anyway, Theroux, (brave man, may I add lol), chats to the inmates...they describe the way things roll in the place. The ones willing to talk tell him what happens to those who snitch aka tellers, how Newbies have to fight to prove themselves when they first arrive in a new wing. One guy comes out with stuff like 'GABOS' (Game Aint Based On Sympathy) when talking about his dealings with other inmates lol. Some parts are funny actually but you start to feel sorry for some of them...1 fella, college educated he said... (Plus he was white and and stood about 5 feet lol)...claimed he was in for attempted murder...Allegedly! They kept pushing hes trial date back so he stayed in the place for longer. Looked like he wanted to cry :( Also showed this little 14 yr old kid...was about to get 10 years for armed robbery or something...1 dude was facing the death penalty....Messed up place walahi. Though I suppose in Part 2 when they showed that military boot camp was alright...they could escape a prison sentence there.

Cool documentary though. Catch it on iPlayer UKers.

Better than Sharif Joe Arpio's jail in Arizona where the prisoners are still in chain gangs and sleep in outside tents in the desert. Or that other jail in Texas where murders are dressed up in bright pink colors.

Over 90% inadeer!!...A few latinos here and there. Did you see the poor Chinky lookin' bloke with the glasses that got accused of attempted murder of his ex? Maaaan...I feared for his safety lol....I thought the next time we see him he'd be all covered in bruises and what not. Luckily, he seemed to be doing alright once they chatted to him again.

Nah man...didnt you watch the rest? See how his ex-fello inmates were cracking up with laughter when they heard he checked out? It wasnt plausible thats why. The fella was a top dog... . Then the guards said sometimes inmates use the excuse of checking out when they think they might be a new stash of dope in another cell, or when a particular guy is hired to shank someone in another cell so they need to get out...something like that.

Louis Threoux is a legend, love all his documentaries. Lol at the why he use his dry british wit and sarcasm to make these yanks look like fools  .

Felt sorry for that 14 year old miskiin though. These black guys caught up in a white system, they are better off returning to Africa.

Let me tell you something, a snake goes into a rabbit house and eats all his young, the snakes comes back later with 3 police snakes at the rabbit house and questioned him about the disappearance of his young, the rabbit did not object to being arrested, they hauled the rabbit to jail and bring him infront of a snake judge and all snake jury and the rabbit quickly pleads guilty knowing the outcome of the situations before hand.

That's is the reason why so many black men are in prison, if everybody that did crime were arrested and sent to prison, 50% of America would've been in prison.

I was expecting that one to be dead the next time we heard about him. Luckily he survived but another cadaan (latino?) who claimed to be a career criminal got beaten up pretty badly and was moved to the county jail.

As Nobleman stated above, Louis Theroux is a legend. But can be annoying.

The American prison system is a huge industry of growth and all the inmates are mostly Black.

It wasn't as bad as i thought, the inmates fought to release energy and kill time really. They all sounded dumb except for the small latino guy, he was just strange. I am certain he did attempt to kill his ex gf. The stupid 14 year old chose prison over boot camp, shows you that he had no discipline at home.
