as I see it its not about what clan is sitting on the presidential or primeminister seat, the point is to make a peacefull Somalia that is independant of foreign meddling,
any one who can do this should be supported and as for mahiga that opportunistic fufu never had somalia's best at heart, so I say good riddance,
now we need to kick out the remaing ugandese/burundian jungle monkeys and replace the motherfuckers with Somali soldiers,

Thats not gonna happen.

Btw to be fair all the UN Envoys to Somalia have been 100% useless from Walad Cabdalla to Mahiga to others. That being said I'm pretty sure a UN Envoy's Job Description goes something along the lines of "Maintain the status quo..keep Somalis divided..do a good job acting like You're doing work.."

Thats true, laakin the thing You have to understand is Somali 21 years bey is dhameynayeen and are now slowly starting to realize shisheeyaha what they've been doing behind the seens all along inaysan Somalia ka kicin their slumber. To think that after 21 years of these Guys controlling our airspace, ports, coastline, etc. inaan ka taqaalusno within 24 hours macquul maaha. Still though, at least now they know that the Somali people know waxay dhamacsanyihiin so they will have to act differently from now on.

Udun,

I don't think IGAD is that influential. They are nothing more then the Western enforcement mechanism towards Somalia.

Murax, that is why I have said "whomever they represent." I heard AMISOM is already putting pressure on Farmaajo. Is that true? One of the Somali parliamentrians is saying "AMISOM is not here to take sides internal TFG power struggles."

I have no idea whether AMISOM is trying to push Farmaajo out or not, but I know its the West who will tell them what to do, just like the West got involved with Abdullahi Yusuf and Nuur Cadde and sided with Nuur Cadde. Ultimately I think Farmaajo will be out, because I do not see How He is a strategic partner for the West/UN etc. to dance to their tune. That being said, if the masses who are screaming no foreign intervention keep maintaining pressure, I don't see the West pushing Farmaajo out because they would be seen as doing exactly what the masses in Mog are accussing them of doing (Imposing on Somalia). They have to tread a thin line. It wouldn't surprise Me if they fired Mahiga, forced the two Shareefs to step down and kept Farmaajo installed so they can come across as accepting Somali's wishes. It wouldn't suprise Me if they forced Farmaajo out, and just maintained the status quo. Anything is possible, but one thing that is for sure is that Somalia arrimaheeda waxaa lugu shira places like Washington, London, Brussels, etc. Not some fat TFG mps, Kampala, Nairobi.

Definitely Mahiga and his Somali cronies do not want to see Somalia rise out of the ashes like a phoenix, nor do they wish for a viable Somali entity to take reign over the country. We know that they have profited big time from the demise of Somalia, there are three groups who profit from Somalia's continuing chaos.

IGAD: This entity which is headed by Addis Ababa is protecting Ethiopian interest, funding and financial support by soliciting funds form the West in order to fight the so called "War on Terror". They first tasted the fruits when Bush funded Ethiopia's invasion of Somalia. If the TFG becomes an entity which is capable of defeating Al Shabab due to a well-armed and funded military, IGAD has no pretext to solicit funds from the West! We have seen this when Ethiopian generals ordered TFG troops to standby and not capture the rest of Gedo. This resulted in the arresting of Barre Hiiraale and other Somali officials.

UN: The UN especially the UNDP benefit immensely from the chaos in Somalia. Many UN officials have secured contracts meant for the Somalia government including monitoring Somalia's airspace and airstrip. After Farmaajo told the UN to respect Somalia's sovereignty and hand these contracts over to the Ministry of Defence, Mahiga called for a Nairobi meeting where his cronies such as Futoole and Maxamad caalim met to discuss how to further exploit Somalia. The UN also loses its lucrative military training complex that it endlessly provides to TFG troops who are then not paid and subsequently defect to Al shabab mujahideen. Lets not forget that Puntland continues to benefit from UN and NATO contracts to prevent piracy and the success of the TFG and a credible Somali Navy is directly against the interest of both Mahiga and Puntland, that is why we see many puntalnders against the current TFG govt.

Uganda: The ever lucrative mission in Somalia for AMISOM has allowed Museveni to win elections and sustain his military, whose trackrecord in Congo is poor to say the least. Just look at his ventures into the mining and diamond industry in the Congo where he exploited that nation and sold conflict diamonds. He has failed to stop the Lord's Resistance Army which has decimated his country yet he focuses on Somalia.

There are many other foreign nations whose navies benefit from Somalia's chaos and countless other arms dealers, etc..
