Kenya Military Strengths and weaknesses

Postby Meru » Fri Jun 17, 2011 3:36 am

http://intelligencebriefs.com/?p=1085 i just thougt i share this with you. what the report does not mention is that Kenya is in the process of aquiring the uttery devastating AC-130 Gunship"flying hell" from our American brothers.
Across the East and Central African region, Kenya remains the most militarily powerful country. This is based on its capabilities including assets and resources at disposal besides human resources. Latest acquisitions particularly long range surface to surface missiles SSM and surface to air missiles SAM has bolstered its capability to strike enemies strategic military positions. Another major boost to its capability was the acquisition of a new fleet of F-5 –Tiger strategic fighter jets. These, albeit commonplace perception they are old, are upgraded 1989 Northrop editions, hence superior. They have speed and precisions besides modern radar and an anti-aircraft fire detection and evasion system, in simple words. The new fleet totals 25 and will back up another 18 all in compact condition.

That's a bad news :)

i used to read some military forum in which Kenyans and Ugandans talk about their dreams of a large free trade zone and defense agreements for Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia and South Sudan. They see Somalia, Sudan and Egypt their enemy. I am sure their hostile view toward Somalia, etc is still online.

Defence Minister Yusuf Haaji seeks peace and stability in Somalia, he is a Nationalist.
Kenya has too much to loose from engaging in any form of hostility towards Somalis/Somalia.Kenya actually has a border dispute with South Sudan whereas the dispute wth Somalia has been neuatralised for the time being and looks to hold.

yeah that's true, however even Uganda is a threat to Kenya because of museveni east African republic dreams, the only country that Kenyans don't mind about is Tanzania and Ethiopia, they have never threatened us militarily,Somalia is always a threat because of the greater Somali issue in NFD, but with a Kenyan ruling the most powerful country on earth USA(Obama) by the time he leaves white house Kenya will have acquired all weapons shot of the nuclear bomb. as for Egypt and the Nile waters, if they do not agree for a review of the agreement we have no option than to take them militarily and defeat them, sudan is no match for Kenya has its stands, Kenya army can be in Khartoum before one finishes 2 kilos of miraa/khat. we have plans to create a greater Swahili state in east and central Africa all the way from Indian ocean to the Congo Atlantic ocean, though peacefully with treaties for trade and integration

the rise of somali politicians and others to prominet position in kenya is welcome since its us who have given them that chance, though kenyans are worried they do not admit it, but kenyans know they can put the somalis in check if they were to start using there positions badly, also the sudden rise of somali population is very worrying(most are immigrants) not Kenyan somali, but the good thing kenyans are not racist as long as you dont try to abuse the good opportunity and friendship, thats the main difference, i think a bantu in somalia can not get big positions, so we kenyans want a global village. as for the Great Swahili state that's inevitable,am sure even somalia will be included once stable, we kenya will fund somali ministry of education to teach swahili very soon.

that was then times have changed lots of water under the bridge, in 60s,70s, you scared the hell out of us, but now we are the kings superpower/powerhouse, history is always there. infact i remember during that time shiftas killed most of my own Meru people and also borana, they penetrated isiolo where luckily we we able to finally defeat them but was so scary, one time i think in the 70s i heard somali men or amry penetrated deep in our village, i was not born then, but yeah it was bad, thanks to almighty God the tables have turned to our eternal favor, but we are all brothers
