Hawiye, Karaanle, and Gadabursi.
Funny thing about Majerteen is Harargee Oromos claim them to be Manchiite Ala.
Gadabursi is a nickname the real clan name is Samaroon Siciid. and surely it doesn't sound oromo !

Mareexaan is a Somali word which means one who walks on incense. Mar = walk on...reexaan = sweet flowers

Image

Makes sense since the Marehan lived in the northern Sanaag where myrrh and frankenscence are grown in Somali and the English word for "Myrrh" actually comes from Marehan.

When you read history books about Somalia, Nugaal does equal to the Nugaal of today. It refers to Nugaal Valley and the Surrounding Areas. For example Sool region was Nugaal just until 1984.

Poor Cumar
Nugaal refers to eastern Dhulooslands for example people from Las Anod r called Reer Nugaaled not Reer Sool

Dhuloos from Buhodle=Reer Hawd or Reer Oodeed

Dhuloos from Ceerigago=Reer Xadeed

Dhuloos from Danood/Wardheer=Reer ciideed

Dhuloos from Las Anod=Reer Nugaaled

Voltage,

Your own source contradicts you.

The Marehan (properly Murreyhan) tribe is said to have given its name to the myrrh, which is obtained in the greatest perfection in their district, although the term seems too old to admit of this derivation, and is more probably connected with a Semitic root mar, mur—bitter.

even still if you include sool, he said northern sanaag which clearly wasn't/isn't a part of nugaal. Even on maps of clans the furthest north I have seen marehan is wardheer region.

I'm suspecting hanadmn is Oromo, the guy doesn't even know Somali, and doesn't know his history, do research before you make assumptions and relate things by yourself.

I was told by an elder that Mareexaan means 'Ma riix maan'= those that can't be pushed i.e. Mareexaan are powerful that you can't push them out unless they push you out. Hence Mareexaan pushed out Borans from Gedo when the Mareexaan migrated to South Somalia before they lived in Sanaag/Nugaal and Kilinka 5aad.

that is a propaganda.
if Mareexaan means mariixmaan, than Majeerteen will mean Ma jirtaan = doesn't exist.

Its not propoganda. Its true. I don't know or don't care wat Majerteen means. But the true name of Mareexaan is Mariixmaan. Go ask many people. Hater  8-)
