If that is true, then why are th PL adminstration struggling with containing their pirates in their almost collapsing jails. When Somaliland got 1 million dollars from Denmark and 1 million from norway to build a maximum pirate jail prison?

I mean if there is 10 times more pirates jailed in Gerowe, shoudlnt the EU building alot of jails and funding farole?

Here is the answer: Faroole is deemed unreliable by the EU, and his corrupt adminstration has reached the ears of the EU, therefor they chose to work with a adminstration that just made it free for all children to attend schools in Somaliland and that just had a democratical election.

You spend your money whre it is likely to be used for good.

That is because there was alot of pirates present in Puntland goon and they are almost abolished and some of their stronghold was taken. There is a huge newly constructed prison facility in Qardho and a new one will be build soon insh'allah.

Where is this maximum "pirate jail" that you speak of? If Somaliland authority did Indeed recieve that money, what have they done with it? did they pocket it as usual?

If your aurgument here is Somaliland has more experience and are more equipped in dealing with Pirates, don't embarrass yourself. Puntland always had more security challenges than Somaliland solely bashed on region's geographical location. It border southern/central Somalia specially galmudug where pirates have strong base. Puntland is backed and praised by the international commity in dealing with pirates and their efforts and hard work is always acknowleged.

BTW, the so called "democratic" election is Somaliland is overrated. We all know that everybody voted for candidate from their tribe rather than voting into office a person who is competent, hardworking and visionary. That is why Silaanyo, who is one of the biggest warlord was voted into office. Also, Somaliland existed way before Puntland and Puntland managed to accomplished things half the time that Somaliland did. Puntland Will have democratic, multi-party election next presidential election.

Also, if you want these men to be freed you have to be willing to negotiate with Puntland

Danish money for Somaliland pirate prison

anish Foreign Minister Lene Espersen (K), together with Development Søren Pind (V) provide financial support to renovate a prison in Somaliland, where condemned Somali pirates can be put behind bars. The newspaper Berlingske Tidende.
The joint decision is taken prior to an early publication of a UN report that will indicate the need for establishment of judicial and penitentiary sectors in Somalia as a key factor in preventing piracy.

But as the Somalia and security policy as economic lies across as a civil war ravaged failed state, the UN report, pointing to the relatively stable Somaliland, as the first place where it is possible to implement the prison project.

The two ministers will allocate 1.7 million dollars of the two ministries global framework to renovate an old jail to house convicted pirates.Several states in the region, including Kenya, Seychelles, has agreed to receive and judge the captured pirates.
Prison capacity in the two countries is limited, and Kenya has actually declined more captured pirates. Denmark grants already support for the part and leader of an international group advising the UN Secretary General on the law.
Here it is when it is finished:

UN monitering group and its view of Puntland
irate economics” are so powerful in Puntland that it is fast becoming a criminal state. The government of President Abdirahman Mohamed Faroole, instead of fighting piracy and developing his region and country, has started to share in pirates’ earnings. According to the UN Monitoring Group, senior Puntland officials, including Faroole himself and members of his cabinet (notably the minister for interior General Abdullahi Ahmed Jama and the minister for internal security, General Abdillahi Sa’iid Samatar), have received proceeds from piracy and kidnappings. The Monitoring Group said in its 10 March 2010 report that “over 30% of ransom payment was retained by Puntland government officials”.
UN doesnt want its money in Puntland, sicne Puntland itself is benefiting from this criminal activity. And the Money would be lost and not accounted for.

blatant Lies^

Reliable source is needed. UN has time and again praised Puntland for their anti-piracy war. Here is an article where their accusation was denied by Puntland.

http://www.halgan.net/view_article.php?articleid=13412

"The above is a huge nonsensical accusation; a feeble attempt to defame the president that requires to be proven. The Government of Puntland has not received a copy of this U.N. report yet, but the Government’s position on piracy has remained consistently clear since the election of the current government."

Furthermore, stop taking a way the attention from the subject at hand. This is not about piracy but Somaliland pm getting captured by Puntland and I mentioned handing Puntland pirates to Puntland authorities to be included in the negotiations. it wasn't want for you to run with it.

To deny any links with the pirates was expected of them to deny. But the UN monitoring group issued its report and i chose to believe facts instead of a empty rethoric by a thief like faroole.

And this militia that attacked unarmed goverment officials, will not go unnoticed in Hargeisa, and once again they will have teach you respect.

This group seem to be completely out of touch of what is really going on in Somalia. Again, this subject had nothing to do with piracy but you are desprately trying diverge the attention from the subject at hand.

Feel free to go on about piracy while I rejoice over the good news.

not too long ago you were saying the author of report was biased.
The author of this report is matt bryden. Canadian expat, Pro Somaliland white guy. He doesnt even mention the wrongdoing of Sl goverment for pirating Puntland supplies last year.

How sad. A good report gonne bad because of his personal feelings.

The report regarding Faroole´s criminal actions is from 2010, and as far as i know. Matt bryden has only been the author of this years report. Thus why i was able to single it out and refute his bias report.

If the author is bias and pro-Somaliland and he admitted he was, Why did he expect him to say something positive about Puntland?

For him, it fits the bill right :)

Thanks for calling him out on his B.S

oh you are so dumb. what you linked to was the Report of the Secretary-General on Somalia, not the Report of the Monitoring Group on Somalia. the un monitoring groups report on somalia from 2010 is right here: http://www.un.org/ga/search/view_doc.as ... =S/2010/91

check out the second page. matt bryden is the coordinator for the monitoring group on somalia, so of course he was involved in the report. you need to take your own advice and not talk out of your ass.
