Buraanbur on the other hand,i watch islaamo play it so nice. And to see them get possessed when they hear their clan being praised is priceless.
I know what you mean. Last time I watched islaamo doing buraanbur, I was a small kid of course, and damn what an impression it made on me seeing hundreds of women going crazy on the tribal poetry and the drum beats. Also the only time I ever saw my mother dance the buraanbur. My mother doesn't even listen to music.
When the clan is mentioned, someone gotta represent and do the whole "dhiiga ayaa ikacay" So entertaining. The most bizarre one was when this woman kinda started rolling on the floor, almost twitching.Buraanbur keeps evolving.

Qora lols ma secret isnt safe any more huh.

^ why was it so dramatic?
I was unprepared for the surprise, coupled with pre-existing issues of anxiety. I wasn't informed that I would have to walk into a crowd of some 100+ women. Not my scene.

Helwaa, haven't you heard, fake hair is the new trend, it's very popular among the old ladies, waa la iskugu fanaa

Yeah i know  even the young girls wear wigs here which is kinda embrassing, waxa kaaga daran wax kasta marka arooska ay isku dhex rifaan e buruukada la iska jiido.I feel sorry for those who go in the middle..a relative of mine almost got her earings ripped of , dhagti bey jari gaadhen qarmuunka xumi.Khayer ha falin shar kuma imaade.

Rulle #1 for those of you who go to weddings, never go in the middle 2 pple fighting.Let them kill eacother.
I hate people fighting at weddings , its so ghetto.

Thats why madows always remove their earrings before a fight lool and their shoes sometimes.

Quick question to the ladies in this topic..

Have you ever been asked to be a bridesmaid for someone you barely knew let's say a family friend? or a friend's family member?

Well my grandmother was telling me this the other day, she said back in her day, Most brides used to choose bridesmaid that were short, fat and somehow unattractive because The bride didn't want attention going to the bridesmaid. I still laugh at some bridesmaid.

I don't attend Somali weddings period unless I have to. I really can't stand them, especially mixed ones.

Went to one and it was a waste of time. A fight broke out because half the guests wanted music while the other half wanted to play nasheeds & nabi-amaan. A good hour or so had no music. Inaa meesha lagu tukanaye ayaan u haystey ba. The rest of the weddings I've attended were mixed.

Hablo, adduunyada waxaa weeye dhowr cisho. Dhowrkaas cishana walaa noolada. If you're not going to have a mixed wedding, lacagtaada ha ku ciyaarin oo anaga ha na soo lug goynin. Shidh fooqal shidh!
