starbucks talk

Postby mcali » Mon Oct 03, 2011 8:35 pm

So i was walking past my local starbucks today and decided to tighten my shoe laces. This was for no real reason since they were pretty tight but what the hay. I overheard these two xabashi guys talking a son and father. They were talking in english until another habasha guy comes and says why dont you guys talk in amharic. The father turns around with a dissapinted look on his face and says he dosnt know it. Then a strange thing happened a somali father and son came right by me and started talking in 85% english and 15% somali. Another somali guy asked them why dont you talk in somali the father turns around with the same dissponted look as the first man and says he knows a little bit. the other guy test him and says iska waran abti. the boy responds subax wanaagsan adeer . The man then says haye af soomali waad taqaana xalkeed ku baratay. then the boy responds waan fiicanahay. At this point I am laughing so hard they turn around and give me a dirty look. Point of the story teach your kids their native language or this could be you
