Pinky,

The government was protecting the cities by bombing from them air? Oh,really? Then they later tried to displace the clans that lived there by bringing other clans from parts of Ethiopia (ogadens) and resettling them.Similar to ethnic cleansing. They tried to get rid of the ''problematic clan'' as a solution.
Was that the same clan (Ogaden) that formed the SPM and rebelled against the government?

No country in the world would tolerate an armed invasion by a rebel group funded primarily by their neighbors, who constitute an existential threat to everything they worked hard to build.

If Texas were to receive military aid from Mexico to overthrow Washington, do you think Obama would hesitate dropping an H-Bomb?

If Eastern Somaliland was given weapons by Djibouti, what would Siilaanyo's response be today?

You can ask Ogadens members themselves, I wont speak for them. But what I do know, is Barre used their reer miyi folks and equipped them to fight against SNM. But because SNM was supported whether by heart or actions by the Isaaq, it was eventually a government vs clan war. They used qabiils against each other and fought on that basis, 'Daarood should take the whole of the North regions' , bring ogadens as refugees so that later they can take over left over property and land. This was planned way before the war broke out and refugees stayed amongst the people in Hargeisa.

Its pretty simple to me. Its not why was the government fighting back, its why use disproportionate force + pure clannism. The mission was to completely remove isaaq from their northern territories either by displacement or death, ''Isaaq Tir Tir'' was what some would proudly shout.

Siilanyo would have no right to target all of those who belong to the eastern clan or displace them on a clan basis, if he did, I would be the first to defend them.

All Barre had to do, was leave his position. Nothing else.

Its the decisions of those in charge that is important whether they be generals or presidents, because many of whom were foot soldiers were given false information about what they were fighting.

Lol@ Kow

Let's not bullish!t eachother, you using the government as cover tried to wipe us out.
You tried to use "Somaliland" as a cover to wipe out Dhulbahante, but the result of your incursion took place in Kalshaale. As for Laascaanood, you are merely a guest for Xabsade, Fuad, Casoowe, Ina Gadawayne, Dhawdr, iyo rag kale. You don't pass beyond 15 klm from laascaanood. Your militia in on the Paved Road, from Gumaays, Yagoori, Laascanood and Gambadhe, with over 1,000 Dhulbahante Militia supporting Somaliland by your side.

If you're going to brag about controlling something, at least, get off the Paved Road and come back to Kalshaale. What will you say, when Dhulbahante fully unites? Ma "Burco baan heesta baad la soo shirtageysa"?
Makes no difference how many of your people we are using as foot soldiers, they serve to further our interests.
We have a blueprint and it will be applied in a precise manor. We have been taking your land for 100s of years, nothing
has changed.

Based, I'm sure you would kill yourself if you lose the current passport from what ever White nation you live at.
Let's not play childish games. While your father was robbing the nations wealth mine was working for a living.

Let's turn the tables around and ask, Why didn't YOU (snm) leave your position? That's all you had to do.

I see what you did there. This entire thread is about Dawladii Kacaanka and you want it to make it into SSC vs Iidoor.

Sxb, this is a celebration thread. Whatever you say, good for you, lakinse, meeshan waxa iska leh kuwii Gobtu dhashay ee Gunimadada meesha kala taq iyo afkada qadhmun.

^ That is dumb. SNM was a unionist movement that was borne out of the failures of gov. .i.e. when it started to become more qabilist.

One man couldnt leave when the nation (most clans) wanted him to.

@Zingii, what would you have done if he died? :|

How can you argue that SNM was supported wholeheartedly by the entire Isaaq clan, and then argue that the government attacked you out of clannism?

The government was repelling an invasion by the SNM, funded from Addis Ababa to destabilize Somalia. Once again, what country in the world would tolerate an armed invasion by a rebel group funded by your neighbor, a neighbor that not only occupies Somali territory but also one you just fought a devastating war against?

When you say Barre should have left, do you mean he should have acquiesced to the demands of foreign funded armed rebels?

Nobody is debating the fact that innocent civilians were unfortunately killed, but doesn't partial responsibility fall on the rebel groups that decided to invade Hargeysa and turned it into a battlefield?

You're a f-king joke. You take pride in the fact that your father (and most likely grandfather as well) was a slave to the British when real men were fighting and dying to free their lands from imperialist scum that sought to conquer the entire world.

lol @ taking pride in being descended from an imperialist lackey. Most people would downplay a past as horrible as that

Based, don't waste your time on these lunatics. If they had an ounce of intelligence and common sense, they would've understood that, the mere fact that SNM took over Hergeisa and Burco was a wrong action by SNM and it's outcome would be horrible.
