Changing Your Awoowe Name to Last Name

Postby caburiye1 » Sun Nov 13, 2011 4:30 pm

So,

The Arabs, The Africans, The Whites, The Asians etc everybody has a last name. Somalis don't and it is not good.

The father, grandson, his son each having a different last name on his ID.

How if we stop this Awoowe Name and all get the Same Last name like other people.

Why not have your name, Your father's name in the middle then ---------------------- skip to Last Name( family name).

If you are reer dhurwaa

Then we would have

Mohamed Osman Dhurwaa ( father)
Ahmed Mohamed Dhurwaa ( Son)
Abdisamad Ahmed Dhurwaa ( grandson).

what do you think?

My name - my father's name - my grandfather's name. The way it should be.

And you're wrong. There are many cultures that don't have "last names". I think that's a new thing, tbh. New, relatively speaking.

it is beautiful that whole your family has the same last name. this is not like leaving in the village where people new each other. if my Uncle comes here to claim assylum and claim me as his nephew, I have nothing to show. If we had the same last name, it would be easy.

On a real note tho what bothered me was women who change their father's names to their husband's. Are they accommodation to be bought? I say if Somalis accept your proposal, then they should accept mine which is xalimoyinka should change their last names to ours.

Our lineage is too important for us to attempt to alter how we've been programmed for centuries.
