you're missing the point here.
So let's say there is a drone attack. It kills Godane and half a dozen Shabaab members. It also kills 20 to 30 civilians. Was the attack worth it? Is it effective? Does the attack give Shabaab support after all those 20-30 dead civilians have brothers, cousins, fathers, sons, etc. who will rightfully so be angry at the attacks. Will these guys then join Shabaab?
Its easy to say AUN to the civilians only, but the situation is much stickier than that. After all they already killed the leader of Shabaab once before and the results were Shabaab just got stronger
