Oh yes, 'moderate' is an endearing term with me, but I feel sorry for all their embittered constituents who don't like that term.

They did in 2008, however, in 2010 the women were permitted informally by most universities because of support from the AKP.
But this year, with the momentum behind him after winning the constitutional referendum in September and more compliant bureaucrats in the Board of Education, the government in effect ended the ban by stealth.
The Constitutional Court is in any case being restructured following the referendum, and is less likely to challenge the governing party so boldly in future.

The Euro obsessed military keen to keep their privleges under the pretences of "secularism" has also been slowly defanged. The coup attempt failed, and the leaders got jailed. The generals are being replaced by those sympathetic to AKP. The party wins landslide after landslide, and continues to enjoy popular legitimacy. Ennahda is following this impressive political script, and your are upset about it :) Its OK you can spin all you want the truth will set you free  First they're beardo extremists, and now they're weak-kneed captiulators. Whatever lets you sleep at night

 WTF. Who is embittered in Turkey? They've broken the record for landslide political victories in its democratic history.

Only bitter people in Turkey seem to be the so called "secularists" you are attempting to lionize :)

:-@ Keep trying to twist the narrative to suit your interests. Sorry the record speaks for itself. THE AKP is the most popular party in Turkey's democratic history and its constituents are huge fans.

You obviously don't know anything about Turkey. "Euro obsessed military", really? You do realize that the secularists are OPPOSED to Turkey attempting to joint the EU while its the Islamists trying to endear themselves to an organization that obviously isn't keen on their presence. Why you may ask? Because the Islamists are afraid of being banned and want the liberties that comes with EU membership. How bloody ironic.

this is why islamist movements do not do more than fight with a barrell of a gun

these parties are pragmatic and represent the people more than folks such as union or Ben Ali, they're using the system to get into power and produce policies that they want to implement

Grandpakhalif, the only true Islamist on this forum.

Did you know that Ehnanada rejects the Qu'ran and shariah as a source of legislation?
Do you know Ehnahda has vowed to not ban alcohol and will not enforce hijab regulations?
Do you know that Ehnahda wants to work under democracy, which you consider a "kaafir concept"

Can such a party ever be considered Islamist in anything but name only?

Your problem is you continue to ascribe to some sort of Manichean view of Islamist parties. There is great diversity and grey areas between them and the vast majority who contest elections have matured politically across the region. This view of gun wielding frothing lunatics, is one that has been defeated over and over again. I remember the AKP scaremongering when they first took power and almost none of it has come to fruition. Ditto with Ennahda and ditto with the MB in Egypt/Syria.
