Postby Mondey » Mon Dec 05, 2011 12:44 pm

starting Somali news websites on the Internet.. from the poor to the rich, the educated and the illiterate, youth and elderly, qurbojoog and wadanjoog.. they all competing fiercely in this field.. just open any Somali website and look at the sidebar.. Somali websites are literally flooding the world wide web and most of it are non neutral and has low quality graphics and designs.

The market is there for one intelligent 21 year old kid to own them all by creating a website with better design, layout, logo etc. and maintain his neutrality on Somali politics. The opportunity is there to be taken.

All these Somali news sites are biased tribal sites with crap graphics, design and layouts. Just shit low quality.

I seldomly read somali websites ( except Hiiranonline and the now defunct intellectual website called Awdal news network). I don't listen to the BBC somali services.

I get my news from a somali neighbour of mine; she has universal, is addicted to the BBC and Shabeele. She is illitrate but can use the internet to search for somali news.

man hiiraan online was the first website ever i was exposed to when i discovered internet, but you know the problem with site is when u open it you will find tens and tens of headlines and articles all up your face that you can't even read ! its very unorganized. my favorite is always Moqdisho times and Borama news.. very neutral and well organized as well.

Hiiraanonline is the most objective website among the hundreds out there. I did not like their facelift. It had a better design before.

What happened to Awdalnews network? WDN (wardhere news) needs some facelift in its news section. The articles are good.

It has been shut down . Bashir Goth was the editor and it produced good intellectual analysis of global issues. Google and you may find some articles decrying its end.
