PO, muwaiyah was the brother of umm habeeba bint aby sufyan, the mother of the believers, so muwaiyah is tthe maternal uncle of the beloevers. Ibn abbaas called hiim a faqeeh and aleading authority. Our brother grandpakhalif posted this to give our respects to this sahabi seeing as there is popular dislike from a lot of misguided sects like some shias, jahmites etc and even ignorant ahl sunnah.

And yes the rasool (salalahu alayhi wasalam) said my ummah does not unite upon falsehood. This means the jamhoor (majority) of tthe ulamaa alahl sunnah will not decree an ijmaa upon baadil and misguidance.

Muawiyah was the leader of a rebellious group which rebelled against amiir al mumineen.
If you dont believe go search what the prophet PBUH said about Ammaar's martyrdom.
Indeed Ali's party was on the right path, while those who fought him were misguided by worldly life(except for Aisha r.a, abdullah ibn saba the jew started battle of camel).
I dont hate this Muawiya nor do I love him.
What I say is: May Allah forgive him when he fought someone who was loved by Allah and his messenger.
Wallahi I would rather cutt off my own head for daring such a great sahabi into war. When it comes to Abu Bakr siddiq r.a, Umar r.a, Uthman r.a and Ali r.a no one should challenge them.


As for his tyrant son Yazid , the only thing I say is: Allah's curse upon Hussain's killers and cruel tyrants.

of course we Ahlul Sunnah believe Ali was rightful Caliph and Muawiya was wrong to rebel against him. But we do not insult him and we consider him a writer of the revelation, Uncle of the believers and we love him like every sahaba.
