I left the Church over this and other issues when I turned 18 in 1961. In 1966-67 I served in the Peace Corps in Somalia instead of serving a Church mission. In 1978 the Church changed it's position on "the curse of Cain", declaring that all righteous men were eligible to receive the priesthood and full Church membership.

Let us examine this statement made by Brigham Young, who Mormons believe to be a Prophet of God (subhanallah):
