Sports is a huge investment of money and time. All successful sportsmen started as young as 7 years and were in a strict diet and schedule ( sleeping at certain hours training several hours a day). Somalis simply dont have that discipline in general

it's worrying to say the least, i would have love to see Somali men and women excell in all kinds of sports, but unfortunately this is not happening, i think about our bodies alot and it worries me. maybe street sports is our only chance, it requires low physical abilities but incredible skills and agility.

There is a difference between strength and being a good sports man. I can't barely lift weights because I am slim, but I can easily run a good 800 metres, which comes natural. Thus, I am a good athlete, but maybe not the strongest. MO farah is a good athlete; I bet he never spent his youth pumpin weights in the gym. In fact, from a person level Somalis who used to race against him. All of them where the fastest in their schools. Those guys are chewing khat and have lots of kids. They were good athletes. What they lacked was the kind of support MO had from his PE teacher, personal determination and patience. There are a lot of factors which effect the outcome of a young athlete. And it is not all about pumping weights or having strength.
