The flowers of War

Is a chinese film set in Nanking during the Japanese invasion. About a westerner who seeks refuge in a church full of female students. He attempts to sneak them out of the city unharmed. Flowers also another synonym for 'virgins', is about his attempt to protect these virgin teenagers from ruthless japanese soldiers whose greatest desire is to rape virgins. There are some powerful scenes in the movie, ones that had me chocked up with tears. It's a great film I would recommend to anyone interested in foreign films with english subtitles.

I know this movie has been mentioned several times here, but I need to add it to my list of good foreign movies.

So basically women running from rapists. I don't know if I want to watch something that depressing.

Ur comments usually come off as unintentional one liners. Made me laugh.

your description of the movie is off-putting, i don't think anyone like to watch brutalization of women, i certainly do not.
