Alchemist/Yungfresh,

Theres something about Somali girls, may Allah bless them, that they just come across as extremely desperate for marraige, and thats not a good thing. Compared to girls from other races, they seem the most willing to just marry anybody and everybody. I wonder why that is.
As painful as it is to admit sxb, it's cuz of us. How many Somali guys are really marriageable...I'd say 7/10 are either dirtbags, unambitious, in jail, jaad-heads or some combination. Take a look at any major university in any city with a large Somali population, and you'll see a trend where there's a 10:1 ratio of Somali girls to Somali guys. After a certain point, you can't blame them for looking elsewhere...cuz where there's demand, someone will supply. But they could definitely make better choices than some of them do when they marry outside the race.

Funny story, there's an cadaan guy I grew up with who became Muslim a few years ago...he told me "when I reverted, all the brothers at the Masjid were telling me to marry a Somali girl cuz that's what all the brothers do when they revert"...made me pause Wallahi, but that's what happens when there's not enough MaashaAllaah Somali guys to go around for all the MaashaAllaah Somali girls.

p.s. No girls are allowed to agree with my comment

Bro that is the though if they can't find decent somali guys cause most of them chew khat why settle down for Big truck lol. Marry Kobe or some rich doctor not ex gang member that sh*t don't make sense.

Yungfresh,

I agree with Your point a lot, however if they were marrying guys who were upgrades to the Somali 'Losers' they're tryna avoid it woulda been one thing. The sad thing though is a lot of times they end up marrying worse or the same. Your arguement would be valid if they married suitable ajanabi prospects at least. Lol @ that story of marry a somali girl as soon as You become Muslim. Anybody who attends any major masjid with a Somali and non Somali community, it is almost a running joke that Somali girls are always the first to marry reverts. This one Eritrean dude once came to me like man, whatsup with You guys. I've seen every race, skin tone, etc. say I have a Somali wife and he started making different accents of guys saying "I have a Somali Wife"

XaliimoFaarax,

Exactly my point!

I just recently warned a Somali brother about a girl his interested in, I know this girl and I know she married a thug and got divorced after 6 months because he got bored with her simple as that, she defied her family and after her failed adventure in madowville got accepted back with open hands. I generally blame our community for being so naive and accepting of others when the arab or Pakistani community would never fall for this bullsh!t. It doesn't matter if you appear racist or whatever do not let your child marry someone who's not suitable.

Damn, I'm starting to thinking it's routine among Somali girls...I guess I'm gonna have to add "have you ever been married to an ex-con revert" to the list of screening questions I ask the future wifey lol

Murax, I agree with them at least marrying the crèmè de la crèmè of ajnabis if they're not gonna marry a Somali brother...I wish I knew the reason behind the disproportionately high rate of Somali girls getting duped by former thugs masquerading as maskiin though, cuz there's no question it's not on par with girls from other races.

Bro I blame these women on this issue. Allah has given them intellect to judge things, if the guy just came out of prison has a tattoo all over his body why the hello would they marry such person. Plus most times these same sisters are going against the advice of their families by marrying such people. A lot these girls want a wadaad former gangsta but in time they find out is not sweet like the movies.

There is nothing anyone can do if sister Xalimo wants to marry ex gangsta Tyrone aka brother khalid she will the choice is hers.

My advice to everyone here, don't let any females you care about marry any ex-convict, no matter how Muslim he says he is, unless he's been Muslim for a few years and people can vouch for this. Every believer has a past and every sinner has a future, so we shouldn't shun reverts altogether, but marrying off a family member to Abdiweli "Big-Truck" Johnson who's been Muslim for almost 3 weeks and out of jail for 5 is a stupid move cuz he's likelier to relapse than someone who's been firmly rooted in the religion for years.
My sentiments exactly. We are aware of it...but some of these sisters being hoodwinked too easily. If someone just became a muslim...tell him mashallah and sit down somewhere to learn the deen.

Every mosque you see ''so and so brother is looking for marriage'' and this guy is barely getting the basics right let alone being able to rear a family islamically.

Somali girls are some of the beautiful in the world and usually make good wives in comparison to other races. Things we taking for granted like a wife who cooks is amazing to some races. An ex-convict who comes from a single family matriarchal home will think he has landed in heaven with a religious sister who has akhlaq and does her wifely duties without the ''i'm independent'' BS his own mother raised him on.

Bad women are for bad men and I think when it comes to marriage is all depends on you.
If you are good person, you will get good women
I don't think good woman will trap on bad men, which is impossible.

Exactly...the first red flag that a guy isn't what he claims to be is if he seems all religious yet approached a Muslim girl like "Sister, I have an Islamic question...can you answer it, Fisabiilillah?". A truly pious Muslim who's sincerely trying to gain knowledge knows to ask a male and not a non-mahram female.
