I dare any brother in this thread or site to go to your masjid and ask a Pakistani or Arab brother for their sister or daughter for marriage, please share his response. I don't care what anyone says, regarding Muslinimo etc, that Pakistani or Arab brother will reject you and in frank words tell you where to go..
This is my point, and this is what really, truly bothers me. I mean how gabdhaha kale from other races are so qaali, and hard to get while to marry a Somali is so easy. I mean are we inferior to those other races?
Also ur right, it also bothers me with the jaahilnimo and how the same standards arn't applied with all converts, but where whites are more welcomed while blacks are not. At least apply the same criteria and principles.
The problem is how the concept of "marriage" is viewed by most Somalis. Even within the Somali community, it is normal to find people who have multiple divorces behind them. Guur iyo furitaan happen so easily. I've lost count of the number of time I've heard bs such as "dadku way is guursidaan wayna kala tagaan, waa caadi".
Regarding these marriage bandits, then they belong to a minority cult within the Muslim community who refer to themselves as "Salafis" or "Jadiidis". This is how it usually goes:
1 - revert meets a Somali sister.
2 - Revert asks the father of the Somali sister if he can marry his daughter
3 - Father expresses concerns regarding this man who he doesn't know much about, and decides that this person is not suitable for his daughter.
4 - Revert does not take no for an answer. He convinces the sister that her father is a "mubtadic" anyway as he does not belong to their cult and that he is rejecting him purely based on Jaahiliya/racism.
5 - He gets in touch with some jaahil pseudo-scholar from that same cult who declares that the father can not be a wali because he is from Ahlul Bidca and that he (the imam) will step up and assume the role of Wali instead.
Fast forward to six months later when dude gets tired of his latest wife and desires a new one and repeat steps 1 - 5.
