I don't know why people demonize Dixon, its Lil Muqdisho. You wake up, go to coffee style do a lil' fadhi ku dirir, then your off to KBW which is 10 minutes away you have religious fadhi ku dirir then you go home in 2 minutes.

Repeat the cycle.

Dixon is a good life.

I dont live there though

you missed out on some great times: the dixon riots, life at kingsview/dg/kci, everydamnday at macalin samos dugsi, dixon day, the dixon-regent beef, when vince carter came to dixon, getting fake grades from that high school in bakara so you can get into ryerson and do public health, and so on and so further. you can't even claim to be from dixon.

I find the title of this thread highly sexual.

Beans, they are forced through limitations and very few sources of support. A new family can do little in negotiating a different residence. When the government gives you welfare, you can barely work or your rent will skyrocket faster then you are able to pay it. This is even true of Rent Geared to Income/subsidized housing units. You're stuck in your income bracket, for good. Only option is to move your 6 member household into a bachelor apartment, do a double shift for a few years, save up, and then perhaps begin an actual life.

The first step of relying on the government then having children in that situation destines many families for sub-par, unhealthy, unsafe, unsanitary, living conditions in an environment which will most definitely leave their children in the hands of street thugs. It's effed up.

gem, subsidized housing.
i dont live in canada but i would imagine that these kind of situation is what leads to some of the youths to sell drugs and killing each other.
