With their hair meticulously styled, the nomads of East Africa’s Somalia display a custom in which young men (l,) wear their hair in enormous *afros smoothed out with homemade butter. When the men become older and marry (r,), they trim the afros somewhat, cease applying butter to it and wear their hair completely natural.

My guess is that that is the cast of shabeel naagood (one of the earliest plays)
