  war somalistanow I am not a facist, laakiin waxaan ka soo horjeedaa dadka freedom of speech ka ay xaqa u leeyihiin sida khaldan u fahmay ee moodaya in been la sheego, in propoganda aan sal lahayn oo nabadgalyada khatar galinaysa la faafiyo, iyo wax noocaas ahi aanay danbi lagu ciqaabi karo ahayn. I mean dadka waa inay sharciga bartaan. No country in the world has unconstrained freadom where people can get away with everything in the name of freadom of speach.

No it's God given right sxb. Any time a body of government tries to limit what people say and what people do then they are really in trouble. I'm sure what people say is not direct threat to Somaliland security, economic and social status. Exposing the failings of the ruling regime is given and if they perceived an deem it as threat then I say bullshit to that. People have right to say and it's God given right. Who are Kulmiye to come in and tell people to give up that right which they are born with. Please don't support this or soon your rights will be on the line as well.

I don't know about you but the country I live in there are alot of people who actually bash the government on personal level on tv and radios and public and they never get in trouble....it's call freedom of speech, something not practical in somaliland it seems like.

Somalistan, your in the states right? Go outside and proclaim your alligence to al-qida and Obl under the freedom of speech act.
You will be thrown in jail and the keys lost...

Rightwing and his politics is pure bullshid. He has no solutions, just points out problems from his fat leather chair. In my opinion respect should be shown to the likes of Silanyo, who at the age of 80 is still fighting to push his people forward into a better life. He has spent most of his life fighting for his people. It's because of him and men like him Somaliland exists..

Skywalker,

Ok so I suppose the HCTV journalists arrested earlier proclaimed their allegiance to Ina Godane and Al shabab? Lets see things for what they really are. This government promised to respect rights of people and would not violate the role of media. People were optimistic, based on their promises that they would be an upgrade of the previous regime. But things have gotten worse.

Kulmiye should take their anger on khatumo seeg militia wrecking hovac on SL civilians in qorilugud instead of law abiding citizens ee wax baa aan geysan

somalistan sxb we are talking completely two diffenent things. Somaliland maalinkasta dowlada waa la dhaliilaa, taasi waa caadi, cid lagu xidhayna maan maqal. Laakiin in aad xadkii sharcigu dhigayay ka gudubtid, sida boqor buurmadow, waa khalad. Tusaale ahaan in aad propogando ka qortid ciidanka qaranka, sida ka xuuto la yidhaa ee waaheenews tifaftira, ama in aad ku hadashid waxyaabo beelaha somaliland colaad dhex dhigi kara oo nabada dhaawici kara. Dadka waxaa ka hadla waa la xidhaa, xadhigooduna maaha wax qayrul sharci ah ee waa mid sharciga somaliland waafaqsan. One thing you need to understand is, wadan kasta oo caalamka ahi isaga ayaa sharciyadiisa samaysta, maxaa acceptable maxaan la aqbalin karin?. To what extent freadom of speach should be tolarated? to what extent it is harmful to the public and to the national security? marka shacabka iyo waxgaradku ka doodaan ayay sharci ka samaystaan. I am not saying everything is perfect in Somaliland, but there is nothing to worry about so sar when personal freadom is concerned. finally, It is bit juvenile to compare your country to another country which is completely different in terms of social and economic development. Somilstanow waxaan ku leehayahay yaan la dagdagin waa la doogiye.

Horta insulting an old man who is on his last legs and that has invested so much time and effort on his people is nor raganimo as you would like us to belief, but pure nacasnimo. Waa bila sharaf, yaa Rightwing.

His one of our last statsmen, but a jaahil like you after learning a few big English words like -freedom of speech, democracy - things it somehow enhances democracy to INSULT your chosen leader with lies.
Silanyo has through his action done more for Somaliland than any other soul alive today. Do you really think he wants to push this small infant nation into dictatorship? Even if he did, the guy is 80 for goodness sake. It's an oxymoron.

Hogwash and fear mongering. Two somaliland clans will not fight over single man's opinion nor will the waheen' content damage Somaliland's statehood. Everything is what you make it out to be. The Somaliland government continues to ignore the REAL security threat to the east and diverted its attention in silencing the people voices of the law abiding. To what extent you might ask is freedom of speech tolerated? Well I don't believe it's up to the government to 'tolerate' it, it's given right for the people of Somaliland to express themselves and form their own take on their elected government officials. Why do we elect these people if we even can have the right to talk about them anyways? The government should not be allowed to have free reign over all aspects of the society right down to the level of discussions in the local cafe shops and internet sites.....those are facist govt characteristics if you ask me.

As far as I know the HCTV, and majority of SL media are duly behind the government, most of the time. God forbid, if they report 'war xasaasi ah', then they got shut down and reports shoved into tiny cell. That is fucked up man. Ha u doodi taas Billa calayk.

Off course there is always an exception to every rule. The khatumo seeg threat both online and on the ground is real. The constant the khatumo seeg propaganda is the type of hater mongering that this government should be targeting and it should be made national priority to confront(so far it hasnt done that). They should file compliant against khatumo seeg sites for promoting terrorism and violence in democratic and peaceful country. To me the content on those sites is what fueling the conflict in far east Somaliland and could potentially cause voilent ending. But we should all deplore the silencing of the right to express oneself in the streets and the peaceful media. .

Again Somaliland is not owned by the government, they shouldn't screw with people's lives as if they own them. The people should be free as their God intended it.
