What's the point of having non-Somali members if they're idle and inactive? They are chased outta here quick by you rude inconsiderate skinnies that's why. Anyway my point was much larger than this. There are many non-Somali members on this site, some not so active no more.. Such as Eritreans, Oromos/Ethiopians, an Afro American, some of European descent and a few arabs and some who hide their ethnic background for whatever reasons..
They are all welcome and no one disrespects the genuine forumers who come on here.. It's the insincere ones *regardless of their background and beliefs* who only come here to troll and multi nick who are not welcome!

No one is new. The only new members in the last couple years were the SomaliLife kids migrating over here cause their site sucks and it shuts down during Ramadan.

Somalinet is the mother of all somali websites. It has always been liberal (not much censorship) and this has its downside; I guess that makes it a "cult".Most regulars on this site are long standing members and everyone seems to know each other. Annoyingly, many topics are highly personalised and people just generally are very unwelcoming to new members or they just assume your an alt. Pretty depressing considering this site is 12 years + and still a small community. I think this site has great potential as a platform for dialogue and lively debate among the Somali diaspora but I believe there is something intrinsic about this community that hinders this process. I think there is a need for some structural changes that need to made in the style and management of this site.
I would like to suggest this site be more open to non-Somali members. I've seen a few Ethiopians, whites come here and they've been grilled and called every name under the sun, which was very pathetic imo. I used to frequent PDF (Pakistan Defence Forum) and the diversity there is amazing, Indians, Chinese, Iranians, Arabs, Russians, Turks, a couple Africans you name it, which makes the place very lively and interesting. I don't see why Somalinet can't be like that, unless this is some kind of cult?
Of course, I don't expect to be taken seriously. I just came yesterday, what do I know right? But there's my two cents anyway.
