TFG Season Finale: Mahiga vs Indha Cade

Postby waryaa » Thu May 03, 2012 11:16 am

Mogadishu politicians and clan elders are crowding FM airwaves, cursing everything TFG. They are constantly attacking Mahiga, UN and the PM. Mr. Indha Ade and Muse Sudi, both former warlords are spearheading this campaign. When you listen very closely, the frustration is far more deeper than the proposed constitution. They are saying the TFG created its own clan chiefs who will select the next parliamentarians. In private and in coffee shops, Sheik Sharif, the president is being accused of bypassing traditional clan chiefs. I asked one MP why they don't criticize the president in public and he said it may rub some of his tribesmen the wrong way. Apparently, Mahiga and Abdiwali are seen as outside invaders.

Indha Ade and his guys swore to create massive demonstrations and civil unrest in the coming days. In his own words, he said "hawiye is a very powerful tribe and cannot be subdued. I am willing to sacrifice everything to get freedom, etc, etc".

First Incident: The unhappy camp was supposed to hold a meeting @ Suhufi Hotel today but the government sent the army and disbanded them, saying next time you must get a prior approval for such meetings and demonstrations. Mr. Mahiga, the president and the PM all said anyone who tries to hijack the roadmap will be dealt with decisively. The ball is Mr. Indha Ade' Camp's court now.

Let's see who comes out victorious
Mahiga Camp VS Indha Ade Camp

Very interesting updates. I have no idea what was going on in Mogadishu.
Waryaa, how safe are you?

emperor, I think he is in the army now. He was driven out of his turf by the shababs last yr and he went straight to villa somalia without stopping. About the roadmap, Somalia is a a western/UN project and they will have their way one way or another. They have policy enforcers on the ground (AMISOM) and can arrest or expel from duty anyone they want.

Daiman, other than random and unpredictable suicide bombings, I think I am safe - thanks for asking.

I think freedom and dissent should be allowed to continue and not stomped out in dictator like fashion. Indhocadde albeit his shady past has every right to protest the dastuur as every citizen should have that right. Who gave Mahiga the authority to clamp down on "anti constitution elements"? Who elected this man and who made him decide which Somalis deserve immunity and which deserve impunity.

Sick of these foreign elements entangling themselves in the Somali political landscape.

granpa, it is not only about the constitution. It is about power struggle and what will come after August. TFG argues we cannot afford chaotic demonstrations and we need to do whatever it takes to prevent them.

It is the first time shababs sided with one side of a conflict between other groups. One of their Banadir spokesmen was on the radio today thanking the opposition group and telling them to keep up the good work.

Well the US, UN, EU etc. pay their bills, and Mahiga is the man they selected to be their representative so that's who gave him the authority. The entire TFG and constitution what not is a UN project.

In my opinion Indhacade already won when this became them vs. a major clan.

Neither Mahiga nor Abdiwali independent of the past. 21 years of failure resulted from "them" vs. a "major clan" be they Darod, Hawiye, etc.

I knew this would happen - whenever one side is angry they run into the arms of Al-Shabaab (Yalaxow & Indhacadde in this case). The good thing is that these monkeys don't realize that Shabaab is losing this time around lol. It just makes it that much easier to identify these unruly spoilers and take them out with full force.

God bless Mahiga and AMISOM, restorers of Somali peace.
